Most recently, Verizon said in March that it would raise its monthly charges. Netflix and HBO Max Streaming plans range from $10 to $13. The measure takes effect on May 6.

According to Droid Life, Verizon has now cautiously increased the price of its Unlimited Ultimate plan.

Before the price increase, this plan cost $80 per month for a single line. The monthly fee will now increase by $5 effective May 7, regardless of the number of lines on an account under the plan.

Unlimited Ultimate includes a three-year price lock. However, according to the fine print, this commitment only applies to the “then-current base monthly rate” that Verizon charges when consumers join the plan.

“Our continued increase in the number of new accounts and the increase in the number of lines per account, or Verizon’s percentage of new accounts, is a leading indicator of where our account numbers are headed next,” Verizon CEO Dan Schulman said.

He added, “But we’re also very focused on increasing revenue per route. We’re no longer giving away routes for free.”

According to its website, the carrier’s $40 activation fee is waived for consumers who add a new device line or bring their own device to the Unlimited Welcome, Unlimited Plus or Unlimited Ultimate plans.

Users will still have to pay the activation fee at checkout, but Verizon will refund the $40 activation price as a one-time bill credit within one to two billing cycles, the Wall Street Journal reported.
