According to reports, Guthrie had dinner with his daughter Anne that night, and Anne’s husband, Guthrie’s son-in-law Sione, then sent her home. This would make him one of the last people to see her before she was taken away. Additionally, Sione and Annie reportedly lived near Guthrie’s house in Catalina Foothills. Additionally, former NewsNation reporter Ashley Banfield reported that authorities are considering Cione as a suspect. This claim has long since been retracted, and Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos issued a clarification that no members of the Guthrie family were suspects in the case.

However, speculation surrounding Sione and Anne remains, although family insiders expressed the belief that the apology may have been an attempt to draw such suspicion upon them. Now, in reporting from Anne and Sione Improve security Many in the family raised questions about the teacher’s work history.

Cioni is a long-time educator, teaching sixth grade science and AP Biology at Basis Oro Valley School. However, many are now wondering about his qualifications, while others are questioning whether he took a leave of absence while teaching.

one person ask “Where did my son-in-law Nancy Guthrie get her teaching qualifications,” while another question “Did Tommaso Cioni take a leave of absence from teaching?”.

However, these questions were only intended to further speculation about people authorities believed had no connection to the case. Grok shut down speculation about taking a break; explain “No, there have been no public reports, news updates or statements indicating that Tommaso Cioni has taken a leave of absence from teaching sixth grade science and AP Biology at BASIS Oro Valley School in Tucson. The most recent reports (as of late February 2026) still refer to him in the present tense, describing him as a teacher who has taught at the school for more than 15 years.”

However, the artificial intelligence chatbot pointed out that Cione’s teaching qualifications are not accessible public records. As speculation about Sioney emerged, an independent investigative reporter claimed there was a group hoping to add a supernatural element to Guthrie’s case.

Nancy Guthrie: Group plans for heart-to-heart communication

Jonathan Lee Riches, known as JLR, an independent journalist who went on the ground to cover Guthrie’s story, wrote on X that a group planned to create a “spirit box.”

He wrote on the

Spirit boxes, also known as ghost boxes, are often used by paranormal investigators. It was a modified radio scanner that these people believed could communicate with spirits by rapidly scanning frequencies to create white noise and static.

Some slammed the move, with many saying it made a mockery of the family’s grief. “Awesome… next thing on my bingo card: a psychic holding a séance next to the monument in front of the house,” one person commented.

Given the restrictions surrounding Guthrie’s home, it remains unknown whether the group will be able to gain access to the property and proceed with their plans.

Along the border between Brazil and Argentina, the Iguazu River widens, slows, and then drops. The land just disappeared. Iguazu Falls stretches approximately 2.7 kilometers across a basalt plateau, forming what is often said to be the largest waterfall system in the world. The site consists of approximately 275 individual waterfalls. The height is between 60 and 90 meters, depending on the area and season. There is a wide semicircle in its center, known as the “Devil’s Throat”, where water flows into a narrow gorge and rises again in the form of a spray. Plumes are often visible in aircraft and satellite images. National parks on both sides of the river protect the surrounding subtropical forest. The waterfall has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1984.

Iguazu Falls is the widest waterfall system in the world

Iguazu Falls are located on volcanic rock formations that form the border between Argentina and Brazil. Over time, the river broke through layers of hardened lava, creating steps, islands and individual curtains of water rather than continuous drops. The Iguazu River curves sharply before reaching the edge, which explains the falls’ wide, sinuous shape. The characteristics of each part are different. Some waterfalls fall in thin lines. Others are trapped heavily in the shadowy passages below. Viewed from above, the scale becomes clearer, with white arcs contrasting with the dark green of the forest. The canyon below Devil’s Throat is narrow and steep, gradually growing longer as erosion continues upstream.

Subtropical forests harbor rare wildlife

The surrounding rainforest is part of a protected ecosystem shared by both countries. More than 2,000 species of vascular plants grow here. Humidity remains high most of the year due to constant spraying.Typical wildlife in the area include tapirs, giant anteaters, howler monkeys, ocelots, jaguars and caymans. Birds are especially active near water. Among them are the dusky swifts, a fast-flying black species known for nesting behind waterfalls. The birds fly directly over falling water to reach ledges where they are safe from predators. This behavior may seem risky, but it can prevent many threats found deep in the forest.

There are tourist infrastructure around the waterfalls on both sides of the strait

Both Argentina and Brazil have viewing areas within their respective national parks. Wooden walkways extend into various parts of the river, allowing visitors to get up close and personal to several waterfalls. On the Argentinian side, a kilometer-long trail crosses calm water before reaching the edge of the Devil’s Throat. There are hotels open near the park entrances on both sides of the strait. Although visitor numbers remain high year-round, access routes are regulated. The early morning sunlight often reveals the scale of the water columns rising from the canyon. From certain angles, the mist casts a faint shadow across the river before thinning into the forest air.

SC condemns Bengal for rushing to court every day against SIR

0

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Friday reprimanded the West Bengal government for sporadically rushing to court on “vague and irrelevant” reasons to delay the completion of particularly intensive revisions of the state electoral roll to hasten election results. SC Judicial officials from Jharkhand and Odisha have been deployed.“Please do not come to the court with vague reasons and try to delay the proceedings. There cannot be irrelevant reasons every day. It must end. We have exceeded our terms of reference (by using exclusive powers under Article 142 to direct the deployment of judicial officers for tasks that essentially fall within the domain of the EC). You are filing unnecessary complaints,” CJI Surya Kant said.

Mamata Banerjee v Election Commission: Supreme Court orders judicial oversight of Bangladesh SIR

After these remarks Kapil Sibal Making serious accusations to the CJI and Justice Joymalya Bagchi: “Something strange has happened. EC officials are training judicial officers deployed by the Chief Justice of the Calcutta High Court on how documents submitted by the officers claiming the electorate will be accepted. “Sibal said this was in violation of the Supreme Court’s directive that the modalities would be decided by the Chief Justice of the Calcutta High Court. However, for some reason, the judges do not like the Bangladesh government raising issues related to SIR from time to time.“When we say that the Chief Justice will decide the manner, we mean that he will decide which judicial officer will be deployed where and what facilities will be provided to him. The judicial officer alone will decide the validity of pending claims and documents submitted by voters,” the bench said, disagreeing with Sibal’s allegation that the Election Commission was ignoring the Supreme Court. Judge Bagchi said: “If European Commission officials do not provide training to judicial officials, who will. Our orders are clear. We give judicial officers the external responsibility to expedite SIRs. Both the state government and the Election Commission must provide and create a pleasant atmosphere for their work. “Finding the state on the receiving end, Sibal said, “The state chief secretary is here and unfortunately her voting rights are being questioned by the EC”. “Please ask your chief secretary to cooperate with the EC and judicial officers to complete the SIR at the earliest,” the bench said.Turning to another front, Sibal said the Election Commission must publish the supplementary voters’ list after the release of the final voters’ list on February 28 as judicial officials decide to include the names of a group of voters in the voters’ list. The judge said the SIR will be carried out strictly in accordance with the court order, which also specifies which documents will be accepted to review the claim.

CHENNAI: There’s an infectious aura around it Ardeep Singh. The left-arm pacer can give tough competition to his yorkers and rock the field, but off the field, he is a ball of energy. At Chebauk on Thursday night, Ashdeep had an ominous touch as he swung the ball to both sides and kept a tight grip on the Zimbabwe batsmen. He took three wickets and surpassed Jasprit Bumrah to become India’s leading wicket-taker in T20 World Cup history with 35 scalps. After helping India beat Zimbabwe, Ashdeep showed a different side to his menacing image in the media area. Most of his replies were full of beans.

India lands in Kolkata and has a life-or-death conflict with the Indian Army. The semi-final spot has been locked

This was the reply he got when he was asked earlier in the day about South Africa’s victory over the West Indies, which has paved the way for India. He smiled, said a funny “thank you” to the Proteas and even shared the tension in the hotel room.“We were not concentrating on the game but were constantly checking the score. My family was in the hotel room and when the West Indies batsmen were batting, my father cursed them. I said, ‘Don’t be angry, enjoy the game and hope South Africa wins’. They (South Africa) played well and thank them for giving us the opportunity to decide the outcome of the next game. It will be fun to watch and we will try our best to beat them in the final,” Ashdeep said.India’s next game against West Indies at the Eden Gardens will be a virtual quarter-final and Arshdeep knows it won’t be an easy game. The Caribbean side’s power hitters can change the script in the blink of an eye and he is quick to point out that they are not just one-dimensional. After all, despite an 83-7 record against South Africa on Thursday, the Windies struggled to achieve a competitive total.

.

“It’s not like they have just one outfit. If you look at their game against SA, they played very well in the midfield as well. They went deep into the game and then ran about 180 runs. So I guess they can adjust according to the situation as well. Looking ahead to the game, we will see how the pitch behaves and the conditions. The focus now is on recovery and we will assess the situation on the day of the game,” Ashdeep said. One thing that Ashdeep will focus on against West Indies on Sunday is, in his own words, “trying to control the urge to bowl bad balls (laughs)”. He went on to add that he and his fellow bowlers were happy to do the “dirty work” on a batting-friendly surface.“As long as our batsmen enjoy batting on these surfaces, we are more than happy to do the dirty work. We don’t mind getting hit. Our game plan is to score high and then defend hard,” the 27-year-old said.

How does the new IRS tax fraud reporting system work?

In the past, taxpayers often had to view multiple pages or fill out separate forms depending on the type of fraud or scam they wished to report. According to the IRS, this structure makes reporting challenging and slows down the processing of reports.

Bisignano.

The platform has been rebuilt to consolidate multiple reporting channels into a user-friendly portal where taxpayers can submit details about any suspected fraud, identity theftunreported income or other illegal financial activities.

The IRS also notes that all submissions will be kept confidential and there will be no penalties for reporting in good faith.

Retirement age gap, SC says armed forces service conditions need to be revisited

0

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Friday asked an expert panel to re-examine the British-era retirement age and service conditions of personnel of the armed forces, including the Coast Guard, as the government seeks to rid the country of its colonial legacy.A bench of Chief Justice Surya Kant and Justice Joymalya Bagchi passed the order on an appeal filed by the government challenging the Delhi High Court’s order quashing Rule 20(1) and 20(2) of the Coast Guard (General) Rules, 1986, which provided that officers of the rank of Commander and below would retire at the age of 57, while officers above the rank of Commander would retire on attaining 60 years.Additional Solicitor General Archana Pathak Dave, appearing for the government, said the Supreme Advocate General was wrong to compare the Coast Guard, which comes under the Ministry of Defence, with central armed police forces such as ITBP, CRPF, CISF and Shashatra Seema Bal. Coast Guard personnel have a completely different job than armed police personnel and are under different ministries, she said. While the bench upheld the HC order reinstating the different retirement ages of two Coast Guard officers, it said, “It is time to review these provisions regarding conditions of service and retirement age. The government cannot be wedded to conditions that were conceived and drafted in the 1940s.”In the order, the CJI-led bench said, “The impugned order should remain. However, the government should constitute a committee of domain experts to re-examine the conditions of service, including retirement age, and submit its report to the court.”On November 24 last year, a division bench of the Delhi High Court consisting of Justice C. Hari Shankar Om Prakash Shukla quashed both provisions of Article 20 and said: “Therefore, we are of the view that the retirement age of 60 years will be applicable to all ranks of Coast Guard officers.”The judgment was inspired by a previous judgment of the High Court “Dave Sharma Compared with the Indo-Tibetan Border Police case, this case abolished the difference in retirement age for police sergeants and above. The SC upheld the Dev Sharma verdict of the HC.

India Unlocks “Fearless Code”! Top order breaks out just in time for Windies showdown

Abhishek Sharma (AFP photo)

CHENNAI: It has finally launched when it matters. The Indian top orderer’s performances have left a lot to be desired so far, and he showed great batting prowess against Zimbabwe Pacers at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Thursday. There must be a sense of relief in the camp as West Indies are about to take on the Eden Gardens on Sunday.First, Abhishek Sharma started the match with an opening partnership of Sanju Samson’s 48 off 22 balls which set the tone for a total of 256 for 4. Abhishek Sharma scored a strike rate of 183.3 during his 30-ball 55, but he seems to have reduced his recklessness. The southpaw has one of the best swings in the business, so he doesn’t always need to try to generate extra power. On Thursday, he focused more on timing the ball than fighting for power and hitting the ball straighter, which made running scores look easy and relatively risk-free.

India lands in Kolkata and has a life-or-death conflict with the Indian Army. The semi-final spot has been locked

Explaining his unhurried approach, the southpaw said: “I just wanted to spend some time on the field. I haven’t batted 10-12 balls so far. I want to thank my team; they support me and remind me that my time is coming,” Abhishek said. While Abhishek’s run-scoring performance ahead of the must-win West Indies game was a good sign, Sanju’s 24-run cameo was also praised. Firstly, the left-right combination was a welcome change, with Zimbabwe unable to use their off-spinners at the start of the powerplay. Tilak Varma, who had to be dropped to sixth as Ishan Kishan took his place at No. 3, feels Sanju’s innings is very important for the resurgence of Indian batting.“It’s important that the opener gets off to a good start; when that happens, Nos. 3, 4 and 5 can go out with confidence. Three weeks today did a great job and the others followed suit,” said the left-hander.Tilak spoke about how batsmen changed their game before the game and that made a difference. The 23-year-old said it was coach Gautam Gambhir who sat down with the batsmen and told them to go into the match with the mentality that has helped them perform so well in T20Is over the past year and a half.“We want to put fear into the opponents; we want them to realize that we are coming for them even if we lose a wicket… Gautam sir reminds us of the brand of cricket we played against New Zealand and South Africa last year before the World Cup. So no matter what the situation is, our plan as individuals is to go out there, smile and enjoy the game,” Tilak said.No. 6 is a position where Tilak has not batted much in recent times. He always enjoyed some time in the middle, but after a lackluster performance at third, the team wanted him to take on a closer role. What’s more, after the death of his father, Rinku Singh looks unlikely to play the remainder of the tournament. Tilak said he didn’t mind at all because “it’s all for the team’s cause.”“I have played this role a few times for India and Mumbai Indians. So, I was ready. This game was about adjusting to the situation…I was just waiting for a good innings and it came at the right time. I was very confident going forward that I could win the game for the team,” Tilak said of his 16-ball 44.Another player who bats well is Hardik Pandya. His 23-ball fifty and economical three-wicket haul earned him the Man of the Match award.“I had to re-evaluate my style this innings. Initially, I was trying to hit the ball too hard. Then I realized I could control the timing of the ball and did it. Now it’s a matter of maintaining our skills and giving our best,” Pandya said.

Donald Trump 'not too happy' about nuclear talks with Iran

President of the United States Donald Trump On Friday he said he was “not satisfied” with ongoing talks with Iran and claimed Tehran must say it will not develop nuclear weapons.Speaking at a rally in Texas, Trump claimed that his administration had to “make big decisions,” adding that any deal with Tehran must “make sense.”“Now we have a big decision to make. You know, it’s not easy. We have a very big decision to make. For 47 years, our country has been breaking people’s legs, arms, faces. They’ve crashed boats, killed a lot of people. Well, not just Americans, but a lot of people. It’s horrific. In the last two or three months, 32,000 people have been killed – protesters,” Trump said.“32,000. That’s a lot of people. They want a deal, but you have to get a meaningful deal. I talked to Ted Cruz, John, and everybody who comes here. I said you have to reach a meaningful agreement. As you know, we recently hit them hard with those beautiful B-2 bombers, destroying their nuclear capabilities. But I’d rather do it in a peaceful way. But they are very difficult people to get along with. I want to tell you this. They are very dangerous people, very difficult people to deal with,” he added. This comes after the third round of negotiations between Iran and the United States was held in Geneva on Thursday. The latest round of talks comes amid ongoing diplomatic efforts between Tehran and Washington to ease tensions and against the backdrop of a massive U.S. military buildup in the Middle East, with some countries advising their citizens to leave Iran over fears of a possible U.S. attack.Earlier in the day, Trump said he was “not very happy” with the way Iran was handling negotiations over its nuclear program and stressed that the country could not possess nuclear weapons.“We haven’t made a final decision on Iran yet. We’re not very happy with the way they negotiated. They can’t have nuclear weapons. We’re not happy with the way they negotiated. So we’ll see how this all works out,” Trump said.“I’m not happy with their unwillingness to give us what we have to have. I’m not happy with that. We’ll see what happens. We’ll have some additional talks today. But, no, I’m not happy with how they’re doing it,” he added.

We passed sweeping orders without realizing local impact: CJI

0

New Delhi: In an unusually reflective remark, a bench led by Chief Justice Surya Kant on Friday said the Supreme Court has repeatedly passed sweeping orders ignoring the social realities of India and failing to understand its adverse impact on the social fabric. When a spate of petitions challenging the validity of the sedition provisions in the BNS and the provision in the BNSS allowing the police to conduct preliminary investigation before registering an FIR came up for hearing, senior advocate Menaka Guruswamy said allowing the police to conduct preliminary investigation before registering an FIR was a violation of the SC’s ruling in the 2014 Lalita Kumari judgment.

‘Justice delayed is justice destroyed’: CJI Kant calls high court the main guardian of civil rights

The Supreme Court in its 2014 judgment had held that if the complaint discloses a cognizable offence, then the police must immediately register an FIR, but preliminary investigation can be conducted in complaints involving matrimonial disputes, medical negligence and some other categories of cases. If police cannot verify complaint before FIR, who else can verify it: SCCJI Kant said that to test the validity of any new legal provision, one has to wait for a few years to observe its functioning and look for loopholes; the same may be challenged. “Do you know how the Lalita Kumari verdict is being misused by filing frivolous cases where FIRs are registered? How the judicial forum is being misused,” he asked. The CJI said, “In some cases, we are passing sweeping orders as if sitting in an ivory tower without realizing the social reality of the country. Friendly complaints filed on a whim in rural areas, if converted into FIRs, have the potential to create deep animosity in the society.”“We have passed sweeping orders in the name of protecting fundamental rights but in reality they are disrupting the fabric of society,” Justice Kant said. Guruswamy said how the police had the power to ascertain the veracity of the complaint while registering an FIR and argued that the police could do so after registering an FIR.“If the police cannot ascertain the veracity of the complaint before converting it into an FIR, then who can?” Justice Bachi said, “The Lalita Kumar judgment empowers the police to conduct preliminary investigation in several categories of cases, including matrimonial disputes. The legislature has reflected this aspect in the law with regard to the extent of punishment prescribed for the offence. Such a provision cannot be inconsistent with the Lalita Kumar judgment.”Guruswamy argued that the sedition clause was included in the BNS despite the Union government’s promise to the SC not to do so. “The Union government can make such an undertaking. But Parliament is not bound by it. Parliament has the exclusive power to make legislation. The SC can interpret and interpret it while testing its validity,” the SC said. It had issued a petition for a detailed hearing in the second week of March.
