The owner and chef of a popular South Los Angeles restaurant has been detained by ICE. Chef Carlos Lool is now faced with deportationand a to fund me It’s already set up for him.

Video shared by ABC7 Eyewitness News shows the moment Lool was taken away detained on the morning of Saturday, May 10, by masked agents.
“It’s heartbreaking. Everyone has had their family or loved one taken away from them ice – It’s really sad and humiliating,” Lure’s business partner and girlfriend Jenna Lawrence told ABC7.
Lawrence said ICE agents followed them while they were picking up supplies for a catering event over the weekend.

“They pulled him out of the car. They put him on the floor. They pulled me back, guns drawn, and they grabbed him,” she recalled.

Lool is not only a business owner for Hyde Park customers, he is also the spokesperson for La Granja Rotisserie and Fuego Rotisserie. He was known for his food and for years mentoring young chefs in South Los Angeles, the outlet reported.
Lure’s convictions in Connecticut date back about 30 years. He has already served time for the crime.
“It’s devastating to think that he won’t be here caring about everything he dreamed of building in this country,” Lawrence said, adding that the investigation began after a former employee reported the restaurant to authorities, claiming there was a gun inside, a violation of Luhr’s parole.
According to Lawrence, this is needed for protection.
“We have a tough neighborhood. We get robbed. Windows are broken, fences are jumped,” she said.
“He’s been in this country. His children are here too. It’s just too much, it’s overwhelming… He has no clothes, no cell phone, no computer, and we have our own business. We’re getting deeper and deeper because he’s been deported,” she added.

LA Granja Rotisserie, one of Lour’s companies, wrote on Facebook: “Many people know Carlos as La Granja Rotisserie and Fuego Rotisserie But to so many of us, he was so much more – a father, a mentor, a leader, a man who spent decades rebuilding his life and helping others through food, hard work, and community. Carlos dedicated his life to his family, his employees, and the restaurant he built from the ground up. Now we are doing everything we can to support him and get through this heartbreaking situation.”
