The court directed the NMC to take a decision on the petitioner’s transfer request within three weeks.“We find that a blanket ban on possible transfer or immigration of students under various circumstances, including those arising in this case, cannot be said to be justified in the name of maintaining uniformity, standards and integrity of medical education in various institutions; on the contrary, we find that such prohibition is manifestly unreasonable and arbitrary,” the high court said in its February 4 order.The judge held that the NMC’s position that immigrants were vulnerable to abuse was unsustainable because the potential for abuse could not be used to deprive citizens of their legal rights.The court noted that the petitioner’s medical condition and abilities were deteriorating due to the harsh climate in Barmer and the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act empowers public bodies to ensure “reasonable accommodation” and “appropriate environment” for persons with disabilities (PWD). The court said that the regulations made by Parliament cannot be just decorative and admirable literary works that sit on the bookshelves.The judge further noted that the NMC’s position that the petitioner was aware of the weather conditions in Barmer before entering the college was “tantamount to rubbing salt in the wound”.

New Delhi: The Centre, the Nagaland government and the Eastern Nagaland People’s Organization (ENPO) on Thursday signed a tripartite agreement in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, supporting the cause of eight recognized tribes in eastern Nagaland and paving the way for the establishment of the Frontier Territory Authority (FNTA) of Nagaland in six districts of Nagaland.As part of the arrangement, FNTA will delegate powers related to 46 topics to FNTA, including areas such as Tuensang, Mon, Kiphire, Longleng, Noklak and Shamator. Autonomy and a greater say would address ENPO’s longstanding grievances over the lack of equitable development in eastern Nagaland.Calling the agreement a step further towards realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a violence-free, developed Northeast, Shah recalled his meetings with ENPO leaders in 2021-22 and persuaded them not to boycott the elections by stressing that the Center was committed to resolving all disputes. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos reportedly told the New York Times that Cione was walking Guthrie home after dinner. Authorities believe Guthrie was taken between Saturday night and Sunday morning. While social media is buzzing with interest in Sione, given that he was the last person to see her, the Pima County Sheriff’s Office made it clear that they have not announced any suspects or persons of interest at this time.
Authorities also explained that it is standard procedure to speak with people who may have been in contact with Guthrie before his abduction and therefore spoke with Sione. Tommaso Cioni: Power of Attorney Claims
A post on X claimed Cioni had a “Special Durable Power of Attorney.”
“Principal Tommaso Cioni, signing my name to the #PowerofAttorney this day, May 16, 2025, and first duly swearing an oath, declare to the undersigned authority that I sign and execute this instrument as my power of attorney, and that I voluntarily sign, or voluntarily instruct another to sign on my behalf, that I execute this document as a free and voluntary act of mine for the purposes stated in the power of attorney, and that I am over the age of 18 years or older, of sound mind, and not subject to any restrictions or undue influence,” the alleged document reads.
However, there is no connection between this alleged document and Nancy Guthrie. The documents resurfaced only after her kidnapping, and many online were quick to assert that such documents were common in real estate transactions.
“No big deal. It was just for the mortgage closing between him and Anne. They were used all the time when one party couldn’t attend the loan closing,” one person said.
Tommaso Scioni: the band and its members take center stage
While people online believe the so-called power of attorney document is common, there have also been accusations made against Sione’s band and bandmate Dominic Evans.
Sione is a member of a band called Early Black, which is into shoegaze music. However, the band’s profile attracted attention after Nancy Guthrie disappeared.

“The last person to see Nancy Guthrie was Tommaso Cioni. He played in a band called Early Black. The band promoted Life:love :: love:murder on their FB page,” one user wrote on X.
Band member Dominic Evans, who is also apparently a friend of Sione’s, also attracted attention. “I think everyone in the inner circle deserves to be looked at and fully vetted. Including this guy, Dominic Evans. He was a friend and bandmate of Tommaso Cioni. Arrested for burglary, robbery, embezzlement, DUI. Where is Nancy Guthrie?” One person claimed on X.Arizona that judicial records show Dominic Aaron Lee Evans had a case in Tucson Municipal Court.
“Tommaso Cioni’s bandmate Dominic Evans was previously charged with burglary in Pima County,” the profile adds.
Describing how Cioni and Evans came together to form the band, their bio reads: “Early Black was born in April 2007 when Dominic Evans (drums) and Tommaso Cioni (bass, vocals) met Walter I. Gonçalves, Jr. (guitar, vocals) through a series of online and newspaper ads (Evans met Gonçalves, Cioni through a Craigslist post Replying to a post from Tucson) published weekly)”.
