After being elected to the Bundestag, he resigned as a member of the State Legislative Council. However, it is not yet clear when he will resign as chief minister.Senior JD(U) leader Shravan Kumar said the constitutional provision allows a person to continue as chief minister for up to six months after being elected to the Lok Sabha.In the Bihar assembly polls in November last year, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) emerged as the largest party, followed by the JD(U), whose ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) achieved a landslide victory.
