Mamata Banerjee says never seen ‘dirty party’ like BJP; flags ‘logical differences’ in SIR process

New Delhi: Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee Tuesday again to the Election Commission and bjp A war of words is ongoing over the SIR process.Addressing a public rally held at Pingla in Paschim Medinipur district TMC The chief claimed that the “logical difference” in the SIR exercise was not an officially recognized term under the EC framework but was selectively applied to West Bengal and not Bihar to benefit the BJP. She further slammed the saffron party and added that she had not seen a “dirty party” like the BJP.The West Bengal chief minister urged people to vote against the BJP, saying: “BJP has taken away everything from you… Voting against it is the only way you can take revenge.”She further alleged that the BJP is organizing rallies at locations with direct rail links to Uttar Pradesh and Bihar to facilitate bringing in people from these states to fill the venues.Earlier in the day, Mamata once again launched a sharp attack on the BJP, accusing it of trying to divide and undermine the people of the state, while urging voters to support the TMC for a fourth consecutive term.Mamata shared a video of her election rallies on “My brothers and sisters are my greatest asset. The source of my strength. The backbone of everything we have built over these fifteen years together… I am confident that our M-M-Manush Sarkar will return for a historic fourth consecutive term,” she said.Alluding to the BJP, Banerjee claimed that these forces were “dividing and humiliating” the people of West Bengal and denying democratic rights. She called on voters to unite. “Those who conspire to divide our people, defame our country, deny democratic rights, exploit and humiliate the people of Bangladesh will not succeed. As long as we stand together, we will not succeed.”She also made a strong political appeal, urging people from various communities to unite against what she called the “Bengali-Birodi Zamindar”. “I call on every caste, every creed, every class, every religion to unite and become an unshakable force against the Bengal-Birodi Zamindars who threaten everything we stand for,” she said.Mamata further appealed to various constituencies to support multiple TMC candidates nominated from Suri, Bolpur, Rampurhat, Labpur, Ausgram, Galsi, Durgapur Purba, Durgapur Paschim, Asansol Uttar, Jamuria, Pandabeswar and Bankura.Polling in West Bengal will be held in two phases on April 23 and 29, with the results scheduled to be announced on May 4. The campaign is expected to be a high-stakes battle between the incumbent TMC, which is seeking a fourth term, and the BJP, which is aiming to expand its presence in the state after its victory in the last election.
