A former JPMorgan Chase employee who accused an executive of sexual harassment took advice from an online legal chatbot when describing similar accusations, the New York Post reported.Indian-born Chirayu Rana has withdrawn her lawsuit after accusing executive director Lorna Hajdini of forcing him to perform degrading sexual acts. He is said to have used the legal advice platform AskALawyerOnCall.com around July 2024, about 10 months before his allegations became public. In the exchanges, Rana users described instances of sexual assault and workplace retaliation.“I was raped, physically assaulted [sic]was harassed and forced to take drugs by my former boss at Morgan Stanley,” the transcript quoted him as saying.“I was later retaliated against for trying to move teams within the company,” he allegedly added. He claimed: “HR conducted an ‘investigation’ but they ended up asking me to sign [sic] Separation Agreement. “The chatbot’s interactions were posted in screenshots cited by the New York Post. It shows Rana later referring to the perpetrator as “him,” a detail that contrasts with his later court filings against Hajdini, a female JPMorgan executive. The platform publicly displays the exchange as an example of its services, including the names of users. The site’s disclaimer states that Askalawyeroncall.com is a public forum and questions and responses are not private or confidential. In the same conversation, the user described being pressured into signing a separation agreement and claimed he had been threatened.“Yes, but I was forced to sign under duress,” he allegedly wrote, adding that he had “ample evidence” of wrongdoing. The exchange continued, with the chatbot asking whether his agreement contained a clause that prevented legal action. Rana allegedly reiterated that he was coerced, saying: “I signed it because I was scared and felt I had no choice. He said if I didn’t comply, he would ruin my career.”According to the transcript, he also said, “I’ve been struggling mentally ever since. It was a horrific experience and I left in terrible circumstances.” He told everyone false stories about me, which made it even more difficult. “The chatbot’s responses at one point mentioned a different timeline, suggesting the alleged incident may have occurred in 2020, which was inconsistent with Rana’s account.“Since this happened in 2020, you may still have options. Have you considered filing a workers’ compensation claim?” the chatbot responded.Rana allegedly responded: “I didn’t think about it. I was just confused because I signed that waiver,” adding, “Everyone seemed to refuse to help me because of it.”He also reportedly asked if he had an active legal case and if an attorney would be willing to take it on.“Do you think my claim is actually valid?” and “Do you know anyone who could take my case?” he allegedly asked. The New York Times report states that in connection with the transaction, Rana connected with a user named “Joycelaw,” who claimed to be a legal expert in employment and business law.The chatbot interaction is similar to a formal internal complaint to JPMorgan filed by Rana in May 2025. JPMorgan Chase later completed an internal review involving phone records, emails, employee interviews and said there was no evidence to support his allegations.Rana is a graduate of Rutgers University and joined JPMorgan Chase’s leveraged finance team in 2024. He later filed a lawsuit accusing Hajdini of forcing him to have sex, drugging him and threatening his career if he didn’t comply. The complaint also alleges that someone visited his home unannounced and forced him to perform sex acts. The lawsuit, filed under a pseudonym (John Doe), has since been withdrawn with corrections. Hajdini and her legal team deny all accusations.
