The investigation into Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance is ongoing even after six months as the FBI, as per a new report, remains committed to the case.

Guthrie’s neighbors recently spoke to Brian Entin of News Nation and informed him that “FBI teams have been back in Nancy Guthrie’s neighborhood in the last couple of weeks.” “I’m told that the FBI agents were in an area kind of behind Nancy’s house.”

FBI’s new move creates buzz among Nancy Guthrie neighbors

Entin reports that there exists a narrow dirt path resembling an alley that runs behind Guthrie’s residence. According to him, a neighbor on Monday mentioned that she saw an FBI agent in that vicinity.

Although the specific reasons for the FBI’s renewed focus on the area remain uncertain, Entin speculated that the rainy season in Arizona might have shifted or revealed evidence that was previously concealed.

FBI ‘not giving up’ on Nancy Guthrie case

Entin’s most recent report arrives almost three weeks following former FBI agent Steve Moore’s assertion that the case had become “completely cold.”

“They don’t close those cases ever, but they’ll give them to new agents who are coming in with a new set of eyes who are not indoctrinated into the way the FBI necessarily investigates everything,” Moore stated to Entin on July 21. “And sometimes people see them in a different light.”

He stated that a case going cold is considered “unacceptable” within the FBI, which faces “immense” pressure to resolve every case.

“What you’re probably looking at is the FBI is evaluating not just the case, but how they work the case and trying to find what they can do to look at it from a different standpoint,” Moore continued. “And so I don’t see right now that they are giving up on the case by any stretch of the mind, but I do believe if I were them, I’d be evaluating whether we had the right people on it.”

Guthrie was reported missing on February 1. She was last seen the evening before during a family dinner organized by her daughter, Annie Guthrie.

Pima County Sheriff’s Dept collaborating with FBI

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department has been collaborating with the FBI’s Phoenix Division to resolve the case.

In the first week of August, Authorities in Arizona made public two ransom notes in an effort to solicit assistance from the community in identifying the person responsible for the alleged abduction of Guthrie.

The first note, which is considered to be credible, demanded a ransom of millions of dollars in Bitcoin. The second note asserted that Guthrie had died shortly after her abduction from her residence near Tucson.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Office has stated that they are unable to confirm her death, and the investigation is still ongoing. “Our hearts are in ruins,” Guthrie expressed on Saturday.

On Friday, officials released the two notes, appealing to the public for assistance in identifying the author, whose “distinct linguistic characteristics may be recognizable.”
