London-based technology company Nothing has launched its first flagship retail store in India, choosing Bangalore as the location. The store was inaugurated by CEO Carl Pei and co-founder and India president Akis Evangelidis, marking a new phase in the company’s business in India.

Store design and layout
The 5,032-square-foot store sells products from Nothing and its sub-brand CMF, as well as official merchandise and apparel. The company is positioning the space as more than just a retail store. It aims to provide visitors with one-stop direct access to equipment, product demonstrations and community-focused events.
The design draws from industrial workspaces and assembly lines. The interior features exposed concrete, aluminum, steel and glass. The layout makes structural elements visible and places products on open displays. The company said it took this approach to reflect its emphasis on transparency in design and operations.
“Opening our first flagship store is a major milestone for Nothing, cementing our position as one of the fastest growing smartphone brands in India. Rather than just establishing a transaction point, we intentionally did not want to build a traditional retail store. Instead, we designed the space to offer our customers a unique, immersive experience. We aim to build understanding, trust and lasting relationships with our community. The Indian market places a high value on hands-on engagement and design-led thinking and this store will be our platform to inspire curiosity, clearly tell our brand story and create a hub for future launches, collaborations and community-focused experiences,” he said.
In-store experience and location details
The Bengaluru branch also has a studio area where content creators can shoot unboxing and product videos. The company introduced customized, location-specific products that are only available in that store. Visitors can also see interactive installations such as vending machines, a pinch doll game and conveyor belt-style product displays. Designated community areas will host gatherings and informal meetings.
The store is located at 660/1, 100 Feet Road, Indiranagar and is open daily from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm.
Following the opening of a store in Soho, London, Nothing has further expanded its global retail presence with plans to open stores in New York and Tokyo. The launch of the product in India comes at a time when the company is witnessing steady growth in the smartphone market in the country, according to recent market research reports.
Is the IRS ready for the 2026 tax filing season? New regulator memo warns of risks
this IRS Has started 2026 tax return But a new regulator memo suggests the agency may face operational pressures in the coming months. The IRS is starting the quarter under pressure from layoffs, massive backlogs and technology delays, according to Forbes.
In a recent memo, the U.S. Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA) warned that tax filing season would begin under “stressful conditions” due to reduced staffing, delayed hiring and training, and incomplete modernization efforts. The IRS expects to receive approximately 164 million individual federal income tax returns for the 2025 tax year before the April 15 deadline.
Backlog remains well above normal levels
According to TIGTA, as of December 2025, there were approximately 2 million individual returns in the IRS inventory, including amended returns, paper returns and taxpayer letters. This number is 129% higher than pre-pandemic levels.

The backlog includes more than 500,000 amended returns and nearly 300,000 paper returns. TIGTA warned that these delays pose a “significant risk” of slower processing and refunds during the 2026 application season, potentially increasing the government’s interest costs on delayed refunds.
Staff shortages and slow hiring
These challenges are exacerbated by a shrinking workforce. As of October 2025, after funding reversals and internal reductions, the IRS’s overall staffing is reduced by approximately 19% to approximately 19,000 employees.
Staffing in the submission processing unit responsible for processing original and revised returns has been reduced by 17% compared with October 2021.
Although the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) was authorized to hire 2,200 employees for the 2026 filing season, only 50 employees had been hired as of late December 2025, according to TIGTA.
Training can take 60 to 80 days, which means many employees may not be fully prepared during peak application times.

There are issues with service levels and technical readiness
The IRS plans to lower its telephone service level goal from 85% in recent years to 70% in 2026. TIGTA noted that the agency has not reached 70% service level since 2022.
The memo also noted an approximately 16% reduction in IT staffing, raising concerns that critical system updates may not be fully tested before application season begins.
While modernization initiatives are underway, TIGTA warns that many improvements will not be implemented in time this year to materially improve the taxpayer experience.
IND vs PAK: ‘Bigger than any threat’ – Moeen Ali warns Pakistan ahead of T20 World Cup vs India Cricket News
Former England all-rounder Moeen Ali has warned Pakistan about India’s spin attack ahead of their T20 World Cup clash against Pakistan on Sunday. He believed that India’s spinners, especially Kuldeep Yadav and Varun Chakravarty, could cause major trouble for Pakistan’s batsmen. “For India, I definitely want Kuldeep Yadav to play. He will pose a bigger threat to Pakistan than any other Indian bowler,” Ali said in a podcast with Anis Sajan.
The Indian team received a grand and colorful welcome when they arrived in Colombo on Friday. Local musicians and dancers greeted the contestants at the airport with traditional drumming, creating a festive atmosphere. Ardeep Singh Dance to the beat of the drums and steal the show in a moment that promises to go viral on social media. Head coach Gautam Gambhir looked serious and focused while Hardik Pandya arrived in style with his girlfriend Mahieka Sharma. On the field, India aims to dominate Pakistan. The team is expected to rely on a strong batting line-up including Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya, Rinku Singh and either Abhishek Sharma or Sanju Samson. Abhishek is recovering from a stomach infection and is hoping to get back fit after a poor start to the tournament.Arshdeep Singh and Hardik Pandya have had good records against Pakistan in the past and Ishan Kishan is also in good form. Tilak Varma had previously performed well against Pakistan and he will try to repeat that in this important match. With Sri Lanka known for being a spin-friendly pitch, Varun Chakravarthy can play an important role as India’s spin attack is expected to be a key factor in the high-pressure clash.
As drug resistance grows, new drug offers hope in fight against gonorrhea India News
NEW DELHI: After decades of losing ground due to drug resistance, doctors finally have a new weapon in the fight against gonorrhea, a common sexually transmitted infection that one antibiotic after another has been gradually defeating. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration recently approved two new oral drugs, reopening a narrowing treatment window for a disease that is on the verge of being incurable. The FDA approved zolifludacin (Nuzolvence) and blujepa in December 2025 for the treatment of uncomplicated gonorrhea. Their arrival comes at a critical time, especially for a country like India, where ceftriaxone is the only effective antibiotic in routine use.“Gonorrhea is a major sexually transmitted disease and drug resistance is rising rapidly,” said Dr. Kabir Sadhana, head of the dermatology department at Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital. He attributes this trend mainly to the overuse of antibiotics by GPs and quacks. “Azithromycin was once a first-line drug but is now largely ineffective because it is used indiscriminately to treat everything from minor infections to acne,” he said.Experts say the urgency is reflected in global surveillance. Dr. Neirita Hazarika, Professor and Head of Department of Dermatology, AIIMS Guwahati, pointed out that the World Health Organization’s Global Antimicrobial Resistance Surveillance Report 2025 has listed drug-resistant gonorrhea as a high priority pathogen. She said the approval of the two new oral drugs marked an important milestone as clinical trials showed cure rates comparable to current standard treatments. “These drugs expand treatment options for uncomplicated gonorrhea amid rising resistance to cephalosporins (ceftriaxone) and macrolides (azithromycin),” she said.Ceftriaxone is now the last reliable option in India, but it is also under pressure. It is widely used to treat several other infections and faces a real risk of resistance if misuse continues. “If ceftriaxone fails, we will have few antibiotics left to treat gonorrhea,” Dr. Sadana warned.Gonorrhea affects both men and women, often causing urethritis, but untreated infection can lead to infertility, pelvic inflammatory disease, and an increased risk of HIV. With India already bearing a heavy burden of sexually transmitted infections, doctors warn that failure of existing drugs will have serious public health consequences. This infection has a long history of defeating antibiotics. Over time, sulfonamides, penicillins, tetracyclines, quinolones, and cefixime were all fell into disuse as resistance emerged. By 2007, quinolones were abandoned entirely due to widespread failure.Experts say these new drugs are promising but need to be used with caution. Professor Seema Sood from AIIMS, New Delhi, said that zoliflodacin and geopotidacin have shown strong activity in studies on the treatment of uncomplicated genitourinary tract infections.India’s broader antimicrobial resistance crisis adds to the urgency. ICMR surveillance shows rising resistance associated with over-the-counter antibiotic use. Professor Bimal Kumar Das, head of the department of microbiology at AIIMS, New Delhi, said new antibiotics are crucial to tackle antimicrobial resistance, while Dr Hitender Gautam noted that early use in India could help curb drug-resistant infections, while gepomycin showed potential beyond gonorrhea.
Department of Homeland Security partially shuts down as Democrats and Republicans fail to agree on funding; ICE remains operational
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) was partially shut down on Saturday amid a congressional funding dispute surrounding Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations. Controversy intensified after ICE agents killed two U.S. citizens in a Minneapolis raid, leading Democrats to demand major reforms before new funding is approved while thousands of government workers face furloughs or unpaid work. The shutdown affects several key agencies, but notably, except ICE itself, which is still operating under previous funding. Critical services affected include FEMA’s disaster response capabilities and the Transportation Security Administration’s airport security operations, with warnings of possible flight delays and longer wait times.Democrats have made specific demands for ICE reforms, including limiting patrols, banning masks during operations and requiring a judicial warrant to enter property. House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries underscored that position, saying, “Donald Trump and the Republicans have decided they have zero interest in controlling ICE.”The White House, through press secretary Caroline Leavitt, countered that the shutdown was blaming Democrats, calling it politically motivated. Sen. John Fetterman broke with his Democratic colleagues, noting that “this shutdown will have virtually zero impact on ICE.”It’s Trump’s third shutdown in his second term, following a record 43-day shutdown last fall and a four-day shutdown earlier this month. The Senate needs 60 votes to pass the budget bill, and even if all 53 Republicans vote in favor, Democratic support will be needed. Some progress has been made during the government shutdown after public outrage over the deaths of Minneapolis mother of three Renee Good and veteran nurse Alex Pretti. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem responded by requiring federal agents in Minneapolis to be equipped with body cameras and plans to expand the policy nationwide. While the Senate is currently on recess, lawmakers could return if negotiations progress. However, despite the administration’s willingness to discuss changes to immigration enforcement policy, negotiations between the White House and Democrats remain deadlocked. Senate Majority Leader John Thune acknowledged it was “an extremely serious proposal” but warned Democrats would not achieve all of their demands.
