New Delhi: Heinrich Klassen A candid assessment of Sunrisers Hyderabad’s problems in IPL 2026, pointing out faulty batting execution and poor fielding as key reasons for their shaky start.Despite just one win in three games, Klassen believes it’s “too early” and is confident the 2016 champions will make a comeback. “Our batting has been good so far but we have missed around 40 runs in three games. We need to bat better. The two games where we have not performed well, we have not executed with the bat,” he said.Push boundaries with our YouTube channel. I would give us six out of 10 so far. We played good stage cricket but lost the game at crucial moments,” he admitted. While the bowlers – especially the pacers – largely stuck to their plan, Klassen stressed the need for collective improvement. “The bowlers stuck to the plan and the rest of the batting was good. I’d give it 80 per cent, but our fielding needs to improve. We need to keep our catches going.”He also stressed the importance of larger totals. “We need to get to a score of 220-230 to give our bowlers a chance to defend.”Klassen finds form amid team strugglesPersonally, Klassen has been one of the highlights for SRH, scoring 50 runs in a row. “Unfortunately we lost two games but it was a good start for me. I want to continue this form,” he said. The South African batsman, who is at No. 4, relishes his role in adapting to different match situations. “This is the role I have played throughout my career. Even if Ishan Kishan, Abhishek Sharma or Travis Head leave, my job is to keep going. Every game brings a different situation.”In their next match against Kings XI Punjab, SRH will look to fix their flaws and convert promising phases into a full performance.
