The ex-wife and three children of the Prince of Dubai were allegedly “kidnapped” by Emirati police in a surprise nighttime raid, a British lawyer claims, raising concerns over the mysterious disappearance of 34-year-old Zeynab Javadli and his children. Javadri is married to Sheikh Saeed, 49, a nephew of the ruler of Dubai. Jawadel and her ex-husband are in the middle of a bitter custody battle. Two months ago, she was ordered to hand over her children.Javadli’s British lawyer, David Haigh, said he last spoke to her on Tuesday night and she disappeared. He said authorities had not provided any answers as to what might have happened to her. When Javadli’s mother arrived in Dubai for a visit, she found the house locked and empty. According to the BBC, she contacted Dubai police and the consulate of Javadli’s native Azerbaijan. The latest update in the estranged couple’s ongoing custody battle is a complaint filed by the ex-husband, accusing Javadli of kidnapping their daughter. The children have already had custody change hands several times.
Javadli is a former Azerbaijani rhythmic gymnast. When Dubai police last came to her home, she live-streamed it so she could be arrested for cybercrime. “I knew this was my last chance to be with my kids because they would never let me see them again. I truly believed this was my last chance, so I went live and asked for help,” she said at the time.
