Party workers also burned his effigy to express their displeasure. This is after Raghav ChadhaRajinder Gupta merged with two-thirds of AAP MPs bjp on Friday. The development marks a major political setback for the Aam Aadmi Party, which saw Raghav Chadha lead the split after weeks of rising tensions with the party leadership. In announcing his exit, Chadha said the party had “deviated from its founding principles” and claimed he did not want to be “part of their sins” and described himself as “the right person in the wrong party”.Chadha also said that more than two-thirds of AAP MPs supported the move and seven MPs signed the document to formally merge with the BJP as per the constitutional provisions. The disagreement has been brewing for days, especially after Chadha was ousted as the party’s deputy leader. Senior AAP leaders accused him of deviating from the party line, engaging in “soft PR” and avoiding direct attacks on the BJP in Parliament.Responding to the allegations, Chadha said they were “baseless” and part of a “coordinated operation” against him. He insists his focus in parliament is to raise issues that affect ordinary people, rather than creating chaos.Listing out his work, Chadha said he has been raising concerns such as expensive food at airports, taxes on the middle class, working conditions for delivery boys and telecom pricing, which have helped him build a strong connect with young voters.
