Earlier, Kohli was also seen in the video bowling to his opening partner Phil Salter, who is going through a tough time in T20 cricket. Although Salter had a poor showing in the 2026 T20 World Cup, scoring just 130 runs in eight innings, Kohli showed strong support for his team-mate. Kohli’s intentions ahead of the new season are clear and with his experience and current form, he is expected to play a vital role for the defending champions.RCB earlier played their first intra-squad match on Monday. In that match, wicketkeeper-batsman Jitesh Sharma scored 81 runs off 37 balls while captain Rajat Patidar scored 74 runs off 25 balls. Kohli also contributed with a quick performance of 29 runs off 12 balls.Batting first, the Venkatesh Iyer-led side posted figures of 234/7, including contributions from Jaitesh (81 off 37), Tim David (36 off 14), Iyer (30 off 16) and Kohli (29 off 12). In reply, the Krunal Pandya-led side posted a score of 247 runs, with stellar performances from Rajat Patidar (74 off 25), Devdutt Padikkal (63 off 33) and Krunal (58 off 33).The IPL 2026 season will kick off on March 28 with Sunrisers Hyderabad taking on Royal Challengers Bangalore at the M.
