One of the children died and the other two are undergoing treatment at the medical college,” he said.He added that the operation to rescue the trapped children required coordination between the fire department and the Indian Air Force due to the difficult terrain and inaccessible roads.“To rescue the two children who were still on the tank, we first called fire engines from Gorakhpur. As the soil was very muddy and the roads were not repaired, we consulted the air force officials in Gorakhpur as part of plan B. They sent a helicopter around 5 am today and the two children were safely rescued and brought to their parents’ home. We are grateful to the chief minister’s office whose coordination provided the air force and ensured a successful and speedy operation,” said Shivshara Napa.
