Police are conducting a massive response at the Costco store near South Park Plaza on Royalton Road in Strongsville. Ohio Tuesday afternoon.
There were reports that someone was shot inside the store, with some claiming police scanners showed it was a shooting. As of now, Strongsville Police Department police have not confirmed that it is shooting. Local Fox affiliate Fox 8 reported that police described it as an “active scene.”
However, multiple visitors to the mall reported on social media that gunfire briefly occurred inside the mall.
“There was an active shooter at the Strongsville Costco 20 minutes ago. I just walked in,” one visitor named Lisa Kradlak wrote on Facebook. “They must have been a minute behind me. I was fine but really shocked. I can’t imagine the kids going through this all the time.”
Costco stores were closed for the day but will reopen tomorrow, Cleveland 19 News reported. Police said there is no apparent threat to the community.
