‘Stage makeup, not ballistics’: Trauma surgeon’s post sparks debate over Trump’s injuries after PA assassination attempt

Debate over the injury has begun on social media president donald trump after a period of time assassination attempt In July 2024, at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania, a trauma surgeon questioned the legality of the wound on his ear. People cited the neat cuts, quick hemostasis, lack of sutures and Trump’s speedy recovery as evidence of potential staging or makeup.

Some even believe that real high-velocity 5.56 rifle rounds can cause severe tissue damage, which is inconsistent with the injuries Trump suffered. However, some countered that the wound was only a minor abrasion due to the distance and angle.

“Real high-velocity rifle rounds like the 5.56 don’t politely scratch the cartilage and then be done with it. They tumble, create holes, and shred tissue. Real scrapes that go deep into the ear leave jagged avulsion wounds with clear entry bevels and tissue loss, and don’t heal like paper cuts. Instead, we see the bleeding stop quickly, no stitches are needed, and Trump is making a fist a few hours later. Add a little bandage, and that’s stage makeup, not ballistics,” Phil added.

Special effects makeup artist Taz Scheiber wrote: “Blood and gore are my specialty. If his ear had been grazed, it wouldn’t look like this. This is so clean. No gunshot wounds. Not a piece of the ear missing. This is what the blood sac looks like.”

Netizens commented one after another

Several X users agreed in the comments section of the above post. One user wrote: “I’ve never understood why the shedding/splattering stuff looks forward and backward. Looking at the hair around his ears, the blood seems to be covering a few hairs that appear to be in different stages of coagulation regardless of density. I’m just an observer.” Another said: “Yeah, if there was enough force to break the skin without touching the ‘flesh’. It would at least make it impossible for him to walk or keep his head level.”

However, some users were quick to refute this claim. “Contrary to that: as someone who may have had a stroke and other health issues, and who is probably on a lot of blood thinners, it actually only takes a tiny notch to produce that much blood,” one user wrote, while another said, “That’s a small notch given the scope and amateur scope. Timeliness is essential. “One thing you can’t predict if you’re a shooter is the way your head turns when addressing the audience. This tells me that all this shooter has is a side angle…” One user wrote, “Real shots were fired. Real people were hurt. The bounce and impact were clearly visible on the armrest behind Trump, and it would have been stupid to say otherwise.”

Video from the 2024 Butler rally showed Trump ducking for cover and then being surrounded by Secret Service agents as shots rang out. As Trump walked off the stage, blood appeared on the side of his head. Soon, he was put into a car. According to law enforcement, the snipers were located in a building outside the security cordon and hundreds of yards away from Trump.

Trump later issued a statement on social media, saying he was “shot by a bullet that pierced the upper right part of my ear.” He said he “knew immediately something was wrong” when he heard “a swishing sound, a gunshot, and immediately felt the bullet tearing through the skin.”

The shooter was later identified as thomas matthew crooks. He opened fire at a rally, wounding Trump and killing a former volunteer fire chief, Corey Competore. He also wounded two others before being shot dead by a Secret Service sniper.
