New Delhi: US Ambassador to India Sergio Gore highlighted the growing ties between India and the US and highlighted the expanding cooperation in defense and energy sectors following the recent high-level contacts in Washington.In a series of posts on X, Gore said the deepening defense cooperation between the two countries has enhanced their strategic and security capabilities.

“Defense cooperation between the United States and India will only continue to grow, making our two countries more secure and stronger,” he said.He added that discussions with Deputy Secretary of State Feinberg focused on promoting defense sales and interoperability, noting that the partnership included “defense sales of the best American equipment in the world.”
Promote civilian nuclear energy and energy cooperation
Gore also pointed to new opportunities energy sectorEspecially after India passed the SHANTI Act. He said that both sides are willing to expand cooperation in civilian nuclear energy and other fields.“After India’s historic passage of the Shanti Act, we are ready to cooperate in the civilian nuclear energy sector, besides other areas such as coal gasification and US LPG exports,” he said.The remarks came after a meeting between U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright and Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri in Washington, where discussions focused on strengthening energy security and expanding bilateral trade.The Indian Embassy said the two sides also discussed new ways to deepen the India-US energy partnership framework.
High-level contacts across departments
During his three-day visit to Washington, Misri held a number of high-level meetings, including with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio.Gore described his meeting with Misri as “productive” and noted that the discussions covered trade, critical minerals, defense cooperation and participation within the Quad framework.
