Dana White recounts ‘pretty crazy’ experience after White House diner shooting: ‘I wasn’t depressed’

White said he didn’t fully understand what happened, but he observed Secret Service officers rushing into the room after the shooting began.

“I’m not depressed. It’s awesome. I’m really soaking up every minute. It’s a pretty crazy, unique experience.”

White said he was sitting directly in front of Trump when the chaos occurred and he sincerely believed the gunman might be nearby.

“We were sitting right in front of the table. Right in front of where the president was,” White said. “No one was intercepted, but someone came in looking for the shooter and came toward our table. I thought the shooter was right next to us or something.”

Trump praised the Secret Service and other law enforcement officers for their quick response to the shooter, undoubtedly saving lives through their quick actions.

“The response time has been truly incredible and we will be rescheduling,” the US president said. “We’re going to do it again, we’re not going to let anybody take over our society; we’re not going to cancel things because we can’t do it. We want to stay tonight. I’ll tell you, I fight tooth and nail to stay, but that’s the deal.”
