Update (3.30pm ET): New Hampshire State Police said they are assisting Redmond police in an “active search for an armed individual.”

Preliminary report (3 p.m. ET) :Radio scanner reports indicate a police incident in Redmond, New Hampshire. According to social media reports, a trapped suspect was inside the residence and shooting at people outside. According to reports, the suspect was armed with an AK-47 and fired full metal armored rounds.
One police officer was reportedly injured. As a result, Nottingham Road and Ham Road are currently closed. People are asked to avoid Route 156.
While authorities have confirmed the road closure, other details, including the nature of the incident and the officer’s condition, have not yet been officially confirmed.

Some local residents and witnesses reported police activity in the area on social media. Some residents reported receiving automated calls from the Redmond Police Department advising them to shelter in place.
One resident wrote on Facebook: “Well it’s 2:35 on Saturday and the SWAT truck and 2 other fire trucks just passed me on 102 heading downtown. Anyone got tea?”
Another added, “Shelters on Ham Road are in place. Police believe the arson suspect is back in the area. Apparently he was armed with an AK-47. Lots of state police now flying 101.”
A third reported: “Ballistic armored tanks and mobile combat units, looking like bomb squad trucks, just drove through downtown Chester heading towards Redmond, what’s going on?”
Another wrote: “There are reports of a shootout/major police incident currently taking place in Redmond, NH. I will share details as soon as they become available. Same location as yesterday’s incident.”
Another witness wrote: “Just being in the gunfire, it was so scary, I had to get out of there too.”
