A fire breaks out near Sequoia Glen Lane in Novato, Marin County. california Tuesday afternoon. According to duty dutythe fire has now spread to about two acres. However, due to the fire’s proximity to buildings, evacuations were ordered in the area.
Novato residents reported smoke in the area. The Novato Police Department issued an alert to residents in the areas of Albion Court, Silvio Lane, Briarwood Court and Sequoia Glen.
The forward progress of the fire did not stop. However, evacuation orders remain in effect and the Novato Police Department has asked residents to avoid Redwood Avenue and South Novato Avenue.

The fire broke out west of Redwood Highway near Cricklewood Drive. The vegetation that caught fire is an extension of Lynwood Mountain Park, which is less than a mile northeast of the Sequeira area.
Novato is located in northern Marin County, about 30 miles north of San Francisco. It’s located along U.S. Highway 101, bordered by rolling hills and open space preserves, and serves as the northern gateway to Marin County.
