Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves breaks silence nolan wells On Wednesday, July 15, the teen’s mother, Christine Wonsley, met with Mississippi’s local district attorney. “I don’t know all the facts about this case,” Reeves said, according to WAPT. “I haven’t seen any facts or evidence that there was any foul play, but if there was, I’m confident that the members of the Sheriff’s Office, the District Attorney’s Office, the Department of Public Safety who handle these crimes, if there is one, they will find it and take the necessary action.”

The District Attorney’s Office explained that convening a grand jury does not indicate that any crime was committed. This is standard procedure for most unnatural or suspicious deaths in the county.

Autopsy update

Two investigations are ongoing. On Monday, July 13, Jackson County Sheriff John Ledbetter told ABC News that his department was still working. Meanwhile, Wells’ family hired attorneys Ben Crumpwho will conduct a private investigation, including a second autopsy.

Wansley is desperately seeking the public’s help to find out what happened to their son. She wrote in a recent social media post: “Elmore Wansley and I are urgently asking that if you have any information, videos and photos of our son Nolan Wells from July 4th, please contact local authorities at 228-769-3063 and also my legal team at 1-800-691-7111. We need to know what happened to our child. Please contact both men with any information!!”
