New Delhi: While one Air India and IndiGo aircraft each took off safely from Ranchi on Monday evening, the unfortunate air ambulance crashed soon after taking off. After climbing to 6,000 feet, the air ambulance pilot sought a weather deviation from Kolkata ATC, following which Beechcraft C90 aircraft VT-AJV crashed. The weather was bad in Ranchi with cumulonimbus clouds at 3,000 feet. An IndiGo aircraft had taken off eight minutes before the air ambulance crashed. “Within minutes of takeoff, when the Indigo was about 37 kilometers from Ranchi airport, it asked to turn right to avoid weather,” sources said.Unfortunately, in this weather, the small air ambulance crashed just eight minutes after the relatively large passenger plane flew away safely. The ill-fated Beechcraft C90 aircraft of Redbird Airways Pvt Ltd was serving as an air ambulance from Ranchi to Delhi. –
