New Delhi: Three minor sisters allegedly jumped to their deaths from the balcony of a ninth-floor apartment in Ghaziabad early on Wednesday and police are probing the role of an online game they were addicted to. Sisters Nishika (16), Prachi (14) and Pakhi (12) used to play the Korean “love game”.

What is “Love Game”?

South Korea’s “Love Game” is an online interactive mission-based game. According to police, the girls had been playing games excessively since the Covid-19 period.the father of a minor, Chetan Kumarindicating that the girls were unwilling to give up the game. “They told me, ‘Dad, we can’t live without Korean. Korean is our life. Korean is everything to us. You can’t separate us from it. We will give up our lives. I just saw the suicide note. This is very tragic. I appeal to all parents to be careful and ensure that their children do not get too addicted to games. ” IANS quoted him as saying.Nimish Patil, DCP Trans-Hindon, said they found a suicide note which did not mention a specific app but it was clear that the three girls were influenced by Korean culture. Police said the girls had not attended school since the Covid-19 outbreak and often played games together. The incident took place in a tower in Bharat city under the jurisdiction of Tillamore police station in Sahibabad district. Police received information at around 2.15am that three girls had jumped from the balcony of a ninth-floor apartment. When police arrived at the scene, they found that the girls had fallen to the first floor and were seriously injured. They were taken by ambulance to a 50-bed hospital in Loney, where doctors pronounced them dead on arrival. Police said the exact circumstances that led the sisters to take the extreme step are still under investigation.
