During the funeral procession, a grief-stricken Rinku was seen supporting his father’s body on his shoulders.Earlier in the tournament, Rinku rushed home after his father’s health deteriorated after India’s first Super Eight match against South Africa. He later rejoined the team ahead of the match against Zimbabwe.Although Rinku’s results in the World Cup were not ideal (24 points in five games), the game was a deeply personal journey for Rinku, who finally realized his father’s cherished dream: to see his son become a world champion.
