RR manager Romi Bhinder breaches PMOA agreement (screenshot)

It’s been nearly two days since now rajasthan royals Head coach Romy Binder was caught using a mobile phone in the team’s dugout in violation of the PMOA (Players and Match Officials Area) Agreement – 2026, but BCCI No action has been taken on serious violations. BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia said they will “examine the matter” thoroughly and then come to a logical conclusion.“Certain people are allowed to carry mobile phones in the lounge and Romi Bhinder, as a manager, can carry it. But we need to thoroughly check where the incident occurred and whether the mobile phone was used. We will conduct an internal inspection and then come to a logical conclusion,” Saikia told TOI.

When told that the PMOA Code clearly states that cell phones are not allowed in break rooms (which official documents define as part of the PMOA area), Saikia committed to a thorough, transparent inspection.“As I said, we will review it. We cannot act on what is said. We will look at pictures, videos and any information we can get before drawing conclusions,” Sekia added. Can confirm this has not arrived yet intense pulsed light Council (GC) table. Now, it remains to be seen whether Binder will be allowed to sit on the coaching bench during RR’s away match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Monday. To make matters more serious, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was seen looking at the screen during the chase on his side when Bhinder was using the phone. The scene was recorded live by television cameras and caused an uproar.IPL founding chairman Lalit Modi urged GC to take “immediate action”. Binder even questioned the role of the anti-corruption unit when he freely used his mobile phone during games. Modi wrote in a post: “It is completely impossible to have a mobile phone in the dugout. Did this really happen? I hope not. If it does happen. Then the @IPL Governing Council needs to take immediate action.”He added in another post: “This is a complete no-no. Where is the anti-corruption?”As usual, the match referee will submit a detailed report at the end of the game, and it remains to be seen whether the Bindel incident will be mentioned. Vengalil Narayanan Kutty is officiating the match between RR and RCB in Guwahati and two anti-corruption officials will oversee the entire process. In just 24 hours, RR will be back in action and the BCCI needs to investigate the matter thoroughly before allowing Bhinder to join the PMOA again. The BCCI Anti-Corruption Code came into effect on March 18, 2019 and also applies to team officials.“The BCCI must investigate the matter thoroughly. Firstly, the communication device needs to be confiscated and scanned. This is a serious violation and it cannot be allowed to pass. Even the player sitting next to him needs to be questioned and warned. As for the punishment, it depends on the match referee and the ACU department; the punishment may range from a fine to a suspension or even worse. The head coach can carry mobile phones, but the use of mobile phones in the coaching bench is strictly prohibited as multiple cameras track everyone at all times. The act was broadcast live and it raises serious questions,” explained a source following developments. The BCCI had just a few hours to get to the bottom of the matter.
