A Jewish school in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, was damaged by an explosion on Saturday, Sky News reported, citing Dutch media.Amsterdam Mayor Femke Halsema said she believed the nighttime bombing was a targeted attack on the Jewish community.Police and fire services responded quickly to the incident and damage to the school was reportedly limited. It was unclear whether there were any casualties. The attack comes as the Middle East remains in crisis, with heavy bombing and military operations between the United States and Israel and Iran’s Hezbollah, while retaliatory attacks continue. The incident came a day after an explosion caused a small fire at the entrance to a synagogue in the Dutch port city of Rotterdam. Police said the case has been classified as arson.Authorities reported that no one was injured in the attack on the synagogue and that the fire caused by the explosion was quickly brought under control.Police later said four teenagers were detained in a car near another synagogue in Rotterdam.A Jewish organization in the Netherlands posted on X that an Islamic organization posted a video of the Rotterdam explosion online and claimed responsibility for the incident. The group added that the same group had earlier claimed responsibility for a synagogue attack in the Belgian city of Liège earlier this week.
