Current area is 30 acres,” they shared.
The fires began with a “slow to moderate spread” and required a second-alarm response, according to a website that tracks wildfire outbreaks across the country. “The Deer Fire south of Antioch has no air strikes, is estimated at 15 acres, has two alarms and Cal Fire,” wrote the person who shared the image.
Many people also reacted to news of the fire. “Isn’t this the same place that burned down a few years ago?” one of them asked. Another added: “Someone was setting off fireworks at Dozier Libby! I was outside yesterday afternoon with my daughter (she was practicing reversing in a straight line in front of the school) and then as we were getting ready to go home, at the roadblock where you have to turn left, we found the remains of a box of fireworks and another one standing next to the box!”.
One person shared a photo of the fire as seen from their home.
One concerned parent added: “The scary thing is that my daughter was not in Prewett and Hillcrest and could see the fires.” The flames were reportedly seen in Brentwood, about eight to 10 miles from Antioch.
