The Contra Costa County Fire Department noted that they are working with the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection to respond to the situation. “CONFIR and CALFIRE in the Unified Command are ongoing at the time of the second vegetation fire alarm in Antioch. Current area is 30 acres,” they shared.

The fires began with a “slow to moderate spread” and required a second-alarm response, according to a website that tracks wildfire outbreaks across the country. Later updates from duty officer The fire “has increased in intensity and fire crews have been deployed on Deer Hill Lane to protect the structure,” the report said.

The official cause of the fire is unknown and no injuries were reported.

One person on Facebook shared a map of where the fire started, along with a screenshot showing Contra Costa County Fire and Rescue units having units responding to the Deer Fire. “The fire of Antioch passed over Caesar,” they wrote.

Another page shared a photo and noted “Two wildland fire alarms at Deer Valley Road and Deer Mountain Lane. Possibly ignited by automatic gunfire.” You can see Photos here.

previous page X A photo of the fire was also shared and it was claimed that “a 100-acre vegetation fire near Deer Valley Road and Sand Creek has the potential to spread.” However, this news has not yet been confirmed through an official statement.

Another photo was shared on X, which was also shared on WatchDuty. This image was taken from the Mt. Diablo North camera.

“The Deer Fire south of Antioch has no air strikes, is estimated at 15 acres, has two alarms and Cal Fire,” wrote the person who shared the image.

Many people also reacted to news of the fire. “Isn’t this the same place that burned down a few years ago?” one of them asked. Another added: “Someone was setting off fireworks at Dozier Libby! I was outside yesterday afternoon with my daughter (she was practicing reversing in a straight line in front of the school) and then as we were getting ready to go home, at the roadblock where you have to turn left, we found the remains of a box of fireworks and another one standing next to the box!”.

One person shared a photo of the fire as seen from their home.

One concerned parent added: “The scary thing is that my daughter was not in Prewett and Hillcrest and could see the fires.” The flames were reportedly seen in Brentwood, about eight to 10 miles from Antioch.
