‘Accident or murder?’: Ajit Pawar’s son Rohit Pawar questions 20-day delay in plane crash investigation News India

New Delhi: Ajit Pawar’s son and Kuomintang Congress Party SP MLA Rohit Pawar on Tuesday raised questions over the progress of investigation into the plane crash that killed former deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar, asking whether the 20-day delay was accidental or deliberate.Twenty days after the crash, Karjat Jamkhed MLA claimed the investigation had failed to make progress and raised concerns about transparency.Rohit Pawar wrote in a post on Is the delay just to allow VSR to destroy evidence or does the company have someone’s protection? This question has arisen in the minds of ordinary citizens. The information that has emerged today that the black box was compromised makes the possibility I predicted five days ago seem to be a reality. Either way, we won’t rest until we get answers as to whether it was an accident or murder in the Dada case! “He also said he would hold a press conference in the next two days. While posting, Rohit Pawar also claimed that the black box of the aircraft was damaged. However, the Civil Aviation Administration or the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau have not officially responded to this statement.Aviation experts told ANI that the black box is designed to withstand extreme conditions such as high temperatures, heavy impacts and water immersion to ensure that the stored data is not lost in the event of a crash.According to the civil aviation ministry, a three-member team from AAIB Delhi and another three-member team from DGCA Mumbai regional office reached the crash site on January 28. AAIB Director General GVG Yugandhar also visited the site that day.The Ministry of Defense said the investigation was progressing rapidly and confirmed that the plane’s black box had been recovered. The investigation was initiated under Rules 5 and 11 of the AAIB Rules, 2025, it added.Nearly three weeks after the accident, no public update has been issued by the DGCA or AAIB, nor has any preliminary report been released. Rohit Pawar said a preliminary report is expected to be released as the investigation continues.
