A couple and their six children were found dead in a burning house michiganAuthorities are currently investigating their deaths as potential murder-suicides, The Independent reported. The couple were identified as 39-year-old Mandy Karolkiewicz and 47-year-old Kris Karolkiewicz. Their six children range in age from 5 to 15 years old.
The family was found dead in their home town of grand haven Relatives said they returned home on Friday. The house was engulfed in flames.
Some family members have gunshot wound Ottawa County Sheriff’s Capt. Jack Sparks said. Authorities extinguished the flames and found the family.
Investigators are working to determine the cause of death. Authorities did not say how many of them suffered gunshot wounds.
Mandy’s stepfather, Steve Lawwell, told The Detroit News that he and his wife are awaiting autopsy results.
Sparks said it was a “complicated” and “complicated” scenario. Police are not looking for any outside suspects, NBC News reported.
“We have not determined the cause of death at this time. We are investigating it,” Sparks said, according to People magazine. “We believe that everyone involved in this matter was at the residence… It was a complicated scene, a complex scene.”
He also said the fire was “suspicious”, adding that police were investigating whether it was “deliberately set”.

Mandy is a substitute teacher in Grand Haven Area Public Schools where she has been recognized by the district for her impact on students.
“This year, our staff were able to celebrate what we call a gold standard moment — recognizing the impact they see among their fellow Pirates across the district,” the district wrote on Facebook in January. “One of those moments shines a spotlight on Amanda ‘Mandy’ Karolkiewicz, the lead substitute teacher at Peach Plains.”
“Mandy goes above and beyond to help students, especially when they are having a tough day, and she responds with empathy, patience and care. She is dedicated to her work, always willing to help where needed and to help make Peach Blossom Plains a better place to learn and work,” the submission reads.
Grand Haven Area Public Schools said it will provide grief support resources to the community.
“Whatever the details may be, this is a devastating event and a tragic loss for our community,” Superintendent Kristen Perkowski said in a letter to the district on Friday. “Our hearts go out to everyone affected, and we know many in our community may be grieving and struggling to cope with this news.”
Not much has been revealed about Chris yet.
Sheriff’s detectives are currently working with Michigan State Police arson investigators.
