Dominque Campbell was driving from Los Angeles to the Bite of Seattle to sell his clothing brand, Soup, when the shots rang out. He and his sister crouched down and watched the crows run past, where some took refuge.
Campbell saw a woman lying on the ground next to the stall, bleeding. “One of the people who got hit came over to my booth,” he said, according to The Seattle Times. “I grabbed a T-shirt and wrapped it around her leg and put pressure on it.”
An officer with a medical kit arrived quickly and placed a shirt on the woman’s legs, Campbell recalled.
“She was in shock, she didn’t know she had been shot. She kept asking what happened,” Campbell said.
Campbell’s stall is now an active crime scene and he doesn’t know when he will be able to get his belongings and pack up. He said he was grateful that he and his sister were safe.

Mayor Katie Wilson revealed one person had been detained in connection with the shooting. While Wilson previously said in a statement that two people were in custody, her latest statement said only one person was in custody.
The annual Seattle Food Festival was taking place at Seattle Center when the shooting occurred. The event features hundreds of local vendors and live music.

The partial lockdown at Harborview Medical Center where the patient was treated has been lifted, according to hospital security.
“I am horrified by tonight’s shooting at Seattle Center. As someone who grew up in this community, I know what this event means to so many families, young people and neighbors in our area,” King County Executive Girmay Zahilay said in a statement. “Bite has been one of Seattle’s iconic summer traditions for many years. To see violence in a place that brings so many people together is heartbreaking and unacceptable.”
“My heart goes out to the victims and their loved ones, those who were senselessly injured, the Seattle Center employees and vendors, and everyone who has been traumatized by this experience. I am also grateful to the first responders who rushed in to protect others and care for the injured,” he added.
