(Bloomberg) — Immigration and Customs Enforcement plans to step up efforts to arrest Haitian immigrants whose Temporary Protected Status is expected to end soon, Fox News reported, citing federal sources.
The TPS program allows immigrants from countries experiencing natural or man-made crises to remain in the United States until conditions stabilize. The Supreme Court ruled in June that the president Donald Trump This status can be revoked independently. Haitians have been living in the United States under TPS since the 2010 earthquake that killed about 300,000 people.
Federal agents are planning to target Springfield OhioAccording to Fox, the country has a large number of Haitian immigrants.
