A fast-moving wildfire in Tuolumne County spread near Sonora on Sunday, forcing people from their homes. Pigeon fire broke out The Mill Villa area is located near Highway 108 and Stockton Road southwest of downtown Sonora and has expanded to approximately 50 acres in a short period of time.

Officials closed Highway 108 at Stockton Road and Stockton Road in Woodside was also closed to allow emergency crews access. Drivers are asked to stay away from the area until firefighters complete their work.
