- Siad is under investigation in France over accusations he helped Epstein traffic and abuse women. He denied any wrongdoing, claiming he was unaware of the “dangerous” nature of the convicted pedophile.
- Siad and Epstein communicated for about a decade, with their last interaction occurring shortly before the financier committed suicide in a Manhattan detention facility in 2019. In emails found in Epstein’s files, Siad boasted about women he met.
- “Hi Jeffrey, I just found an amazing [sic] one. She is 20 years old but looks younger and is from Latvia. ” Epstein wrote in a message in June 2009, a year after he pleaded guilty to soliciting prostitution in Florida. In a July 2014 email, Siad appeared to compare the process of recruiting women to fishing. “In the midst of this hustle [sic] I feel like a fisherman, sometimes I catch fast and sometimes there are no fish,” he reportedly told Epstein.
- In that specific letter, Siad expressed his disappointment that Epstein had canceled the meeting. “Of course I will reimburse you for any expenses,” Epstein responded. “I value your friendship and hope this doesn’t cause you too much trouble.”
- He faces accusations from two women that they groomed Epstein. In February, former Swedish model Ebba Karlsson claimed that Siad raped her when she was 20 and groomed her for Gerald Marie, the former head of Elite Modeling Agency. Both Siad and Mary deny the claims. In May, a model named Juliette said Siad dressed her in 2004, when she was 21.
