Federal health officials have linked a large cyclospora outbreak in the Midwest to lettuce, which is served at some Taco Bell restaurants in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, West Virginia and Kentucky, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Taco Bell said it has pulled lettuce from its restaurants and supply chain nationwide.

Walmart says customers who purchase these products should not eat them and should throw them away or return them to the store for a full refund.
Cyclospora outbreak intensifies
Symptoms of cyclosporiasis include watery diarrhea, cramps, and bloating, which can last for weeks and lead to dehydration.
CDC data shows that since May 1, 34 states have reported nearly 7,000 confirmed or suspected cases. As of July 16, Michigan alone has reported more than 5,000 cases, with 102 people hospitalized, according to the state health department.
The Michigan health department said it “cannot say with certainty that every illness is linked to the same source of exposure,” but added that the dramatic increase in cases “strongly suggests that the vast majority of these illnesses are related to the same outbreak,” which would make it the largest cyclospora outbreak on record in the United States.
