A user on X named Chitown Crime Chasers reported on the shooting near Washington Park and wrote: “CPD found at least 50 rifle shell casings at the scene.”
The user further reported that a group of people were standing on the street corner when a black car approached. The driver of the vehicle fired multiple shots at the group before fleeing eastbound on 51st.
The user wrote, “The shooting occurred at approximately 9:01 p.m. when police responded to reports of several shots being fired on a street corner. When they arrived, they found 4 gunshot victims and EMS Plan 1 was activated.”
