Vivek Ramaswamy's Quote of the Day:
Vivek Ramaswamy’s quote of the day about family values and true privilege.

2024, Vivek Ramaswamy In his book, “Truth: The Future of America First,” he redefines privilege, expanding the concept of privilege from economic affluence to emotional enrichment. By the time the book was published, the billionaire entrepreneur had dropped out of the presidential race and endorsed Donald Trump. In the book, he talks about his America First values, as well as his views on the climate change agenda, open borders, gender, family, reverse racism, and more.“Yes, I grew up in privilege. Not financial privilege, but the ultimate privilege of having two parents in the home — a mother and a father — who instilled in us a focus on education and a faith in God,” he wrote. The term “privilege” is almost exclusively associated with systemic advantages based on race, class, or socioeconomic status (often referred to under the rubrics of “white privilege” or “economic privilege”). As a child of Indian origin, Ramaswamy did not have the privilege of not being bullied growing up. Even today, as he runs for governor of Ohio, he faces racist attacks. He said he was privileged to have two parents at home. This quote demonstrates his belief in the conservative family system.Ramaswamy was born in Ohio to Indian immigrant parents. His father was an engineer and his mother was a geriatric psychiatrist. Although the family eventually became comfortably middle-class, Ramaswamy stresses that they were not born into inherited wealth or elite social circles. Instead, he attributes much of his later success to growing up in a family with two devoted parents who constantly emphasized the importance of education, discipline, religion, and personal responsibility.Rather than denying that he was lucky, he redefined what he considered true privilege. His view was that the greatest advantage he gained was not money, but a stable family with parents who invested time and value in their children. This reflects one of the central themes that runs through Truth. In his book, Ramaswamy argues that many of America’s deepest problems cannot be solved simply through economic redistribution or government programs because they stem from the weakening of institutions such as family, religion, and local community. In his view, children who grow up in stable families often benefit from continued emotional support, clearer expectations and stronger educational encouragement. He argued that these advantages often outweigh differences in family income over a lifetime.Education was a priority for the Ramaswamy family and the Republican leader also excelled academically. Ramaswamy graduated magna cum laude in biology from Harvard University and received his J.D. from Yale Law School while working at a hedge fund. He then founded a biotech company, Roivant Sciences, where he oversaw the development of five drugs that were later approved by the FDA. He has since founded many successful companies, including Strive and Chapter. The family values he talks about in the book are something he upholds as well, as he maintains his public image as a family man. His husband, Dr. Apoorva Ramaswamy, is a throat surgeon in Columbus, Ohio, where they raised their three children—two sons and a daughter.
