Kash Patel summoned to White House? Report says FBI director canceled Chicago girlfriend concert trip
director of the fbi Kashi Patel Reports say he canceled a planned trip to Chicago and was called White House Instead, it prompted strong denials from the Trump administration and the FBI.

According to “MS NOW”, Patel originally planned to go to chicago Friday, but canceled the visit after senior Trump administration officials directed him to report to the West Wing. The outlet cited sources as saying the trip was related to a country music festival that Patel’s girlfriend, singer Alexis Wilkins, would attend.
The report further claims that administration officials are increasingly concerned about Patel’s conduct, including allegations that he used taxpayer-funded resources and the timing of his proposed travel at a time when the U.S. faces renewed military engagement with Iran.
Neither the White House nor the FBI confirmed the allegations.
White House refuses to ‘subpoena’ report
The White House quickly dismissed the report, with its Rapid Response47 account on X calling it “fake news.”
“No one is upset. In fact, we will start promoting and publicizing his previous tweets more,” the account posted, rejecting suggestions that officials were unhappy with Patel.
White House communications director Steven Chang also defended the FBI director, writing that Patel’s social media activity was “not discouraging” and accusing MS NOW of inaccurate reporting.
A White House official told reporters separately that Patel’s visit was not related to any internal concerns.
“The suggestion that he was ‘summoned to the White House’ out of ‘frustration’ is completely inaccurate. He was here for an unrelated meeting,” the official said.
Patel also acknowledged being in the White House but denied wider reports. “I am indeed in the White House and the Fake News will soon find out why,” he wrote on X.
Why is Kash Patel under scrutiny?
The latest controversy comes as Patel faces questions about his travels and spending.
Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley recently asked Patel to provide records showing whether he reimbursed the FBI for private jet travel expenses and to explain why the agency purchased a BMW instead of a traditional Chevrolet Suburban.
MS NOW also reports that some FBI agents have questioned the planned trip to Chicago, saying it would coincide with Wilkins’ concert and include an official visit to the FBI’s Chicago office. The FBI has not publicly confirmed these claims.
Patel has previously denied accusations that he misused government aircraft for personal travel, calling such accusations “baseless”. He also publicly defended Wilkins, calling her a “country music star.”
In recent months, Patel has faced scrutiny over reports about his travel arrangements and official conduct. Democratic lawmakers are seeking information about allegations of government-sponsored helicopter tours, jet skiing and other recreational activities during official travel.
The FBI dismissed the charges, saying Patel had reimbursed all eligible personal travel expenses and complied with federal regulations.
