Who carried out latest attack on Iran remains a mystery
Iran has been hit by mysterious, unclaimed airstrikes after the United States said it had completed the strikes, again raising questions about who else might be targeting the Islamic republic.Thursday’s attack hit the southern region of Iran.At around 6:30 a.m. local time in Iran on Thursday, the U.S. military’s Central Command said it had completed a round of strikes against 90 targets. Shortly thereafter, Iranian news and state media reported a series of airstrikes and bombings targeting the country’s Bushehr, Sistan and Baluchestan provinces, the cities of Ahvaz and Chabahar, and other areas. Central Command did not respond to a request for comment about the additional strikes. The country’s theocracy doesn’t blame anyone directly. Gulf Arab states did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the attack on Friday. Israel has also not taken responsibility for any recent attacks against Iran.
