Mitch McConnell health update: Elaine Chao defends China trip as ambulance video emerges and home flooring work begins
Former U.S. Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao returns to the United States USA from China This week after her husband Sen. Mitch McConnellHospitalized on June 14, there have been few updates on his health since then.
Where is Zhao Elaine?
According to reports, 72-year-old Elaine Chao returned to the United States this week.
“The secretary is on a long-planned trip to China to support her family’s philanthropic efforts,” a spokesperson for Elaine Chao said in a statement to The Courier Journal. USA Today network. “During her trip, she met with many people, including the U.S. Ambassador. The senator’s health does not warrant an immediate return to the United States.”
Chao, who served as transportation secretary during President Donald Trump’s first term and labor secretary under President George W. Bush, has been married to McConnell for decades.
On June 17, days after he was hospitalized, the Chinese Embassy in Washington released a photo of Chao sitting next to Chinese Vice President Han Zheng in front of a magnificent painting of the Great Wall in Beijing.
Chao’s staff did not indicate whether she had been in contact with McConnell since her return, Louisville’s CBS affiliate WLKY reported. She left for China on June 12, just two days before McConnell was hospitalized.
Meanwhile, Marjorie Taylor Greene told TMZ that Mitch is a “vegetative” and that his “communist Chinese spy” wife is meeting with Chinese leaders instead of rushing home to be by his bedside.
New floors in McConnell’s home
While McConnell’s health remains up in the air, life continues at his Washington, D.C., residence, at least on the floor, according to TMZ.
one TMZ Producer Charlie Cotton visited the senator’s home on Friday to see if he could get any answers about Mickey’s health and saw a man leaving the house with carpet samples. Charlie talks to the man off-camera and sounds like he’s also thinking about new tiles.

McConnell was found unconscious and spent several weeks in the hospital. washingtonresidence in Washington, D.C., where he required CPR.
A neighbor told CNN they saw a stretcher being removed from McConnell’s residence about 30 minutes after they first saw the ambulance on the street. “He was lying on a stretcher with what looked like a blanket of orange foam,” the neighbor said, noting they could see his feet, which were “not moving.”
