Mitch McConnell health update: Rep. Jack Kimble says he spoke with senator for about 45 minutes, ‘he was very sharp’
Rep. Jack Kimble shares the latest news Mitch McConnellis still receiving treatment in the hospital. Kimble said his call with the Kentucky senator lasted “less than 45 minutes.”

The 84-year-old lawmaker remains hospitalized for more than three weeks, but details about his health remain scant. The former Senate majority leader has declined to seek an eighth term following a series of health scares. On June 14, he was admitted to the hospital for treatment.
At the time, a spokesman for McConnell confirmed his hospitalization and said the senator was “receiving excellent care,” but provided no other information.

“I spoke this morning with my old friend Mitch McConnell, the senior senator from Kentucky. He’s still recovering in the hospital. We talked for less than 45 minutes. He was very sharp. As usual, he let me do all the talking. He’s a great listener. We prayed silently for a while afterwards and had a staring contest. As usual, he got the better of me. I told him we wanted to see him back at work as soon as possible.” Kimble wrote on.

The senator’s office told CNBC on Tuesday, July 7, that he is “grateful for the outpouring of support” he has received while he continues to recover in the hospital.
“The Senator continues to make progress and is working closely with his staff on Kentucky and Senate matters during the Senate recess,” the statement read, indicating McConnell is conscious, active and recovering.

Previously, audio for emergency services calls, first report Information written by reporter Desiree Townsend and subsequently obtained by other media shows that ambulance crews performed CPR on a patient who suffered cardiac arrest during a speech in Washington on the day McConnell was hospitalized.
