Nithya Raman condemns LAPD dog shooting in Canoga Park, calls for release of body camera footage: ‘I’m shocked’

What the Los Angeles Police Department Says
LAPD defends Jameson’s killing statement on social media.
“Police contacted the resident of the apartment; while speaking with the resident, she was approached by a large dog that was barking at officers,” the statement read. “The officer asked her to watch the dog and the resident immediately closed the door. She reopened the door and the dog left the apartment. Once outside the apartment, the dog charged at an officer, resulting in an officer-involved shooting (OIS).”
Mary told the Hindustan Times website that Jameson “never showed aggression To anyone. “
“I don’t remember him barking. I really don’t remember. Jameson doesn’t bark when someone rings the doorbell or knocks on our door. It all happens in a matter of seconds. I was home alone with Jameson and my two cats while I was responding to a noise complaint for the police. Jameson slipped out from between my legs and within seconds, he was gone,” Mary said.
Mary called for “a transparent and impartial investigation into what happened that night”.
“What I want most is the truth,” she told HindustanTimes.com. “I want to know why this happens and if it can be avoided.”
