New Delhi: Every Hindu voter in West Bengal becomes a Hindu worker, Dattatreya Hosabale RSS on Tuesday said it views the recent Assembly polls as a “civilization issue” for Hindutva groups as the group faces obstacles and attacks there.“This is not just the fight of RSS volunteers but the fight of the entire Hindu society,” RSS’s second commander Hosaba Rai told PTI. He stressed that his organization was first targeted by the Left regime and then by the TMC due to its work for Hindus.Asked about the role played by RSS volunteers in the victory, he said that as citizens, they did everything. Out of “love for society and spirit of community” they gathered like-minded people and tried to provide safety to others, including those who were not Hindus.Regarding India-Pakistan relations, he said that India completely lacks trust in Pakistan’s military and political leadership, and people-to-people contact has become the best way to break the deadlock.“This should be tried more and more. I firmly believe that civil society relations will eventually work. Because we have cultural relations and we have always been one country,” he said, adding, “The security and self-respect of a country must be protected and the government of the day should take care of it. But at the same time, we do not need to close the door. We should always be ready for dialogue.”Hosabale also criticized DMK’s Udayanidhi Stalin for calling for the eradication of “Sanatan Dharma”. “This is his point and people have answered this question in the election. Sanatan Dharma will not end just because someone says so,” he said.
