The incident sparked a backlash online, with critics calling the stunt reckless and disrespectful to wildlife.

Peters was charged with illegally discharging a firearm in a public place or wildlife refuge in connection with the March 26 incident, according to court records cited by multiple U.S. media outlets.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said it was aware of video showing someone “discharging electricity” at an alligator in the Everglades.

However, authorities have not publicly confirmed whether the animal was still alive at the time or whether it was harmed during the incident.

Collarbone, 20, is known for controversial internet content related to “appearance maximization,” a trend that focuses on extreme methods to improve one’s appearance. He has built a large following on platforms such as Kick, TikTok and Instagram.

The influencer has faced other controversies in recent months, including separate battery-related charges in Florida and criticism for dangerous livestreaming stunts.
