Dehradun: Geetika Pant from Bageshwar and Naincy Dubey from Dehradun topped the inspiring list of Uttarakhand board results, their achievements shaped by hardship and resilience.Geetika scored 98% in class 12, tied for first place in the state, while juggling studies and taking care of her ailing grandfather until his death. She later attributed her success to him and credited her taxi driver father and family support for helping her through the financial stress. Her current goal is to become an engineer.Naincy Dubey topped class 10 in Dehradun school with 83% after her family left Uttar Pradesh due to agricultural losses and land dispossession. Her father was a gardener and the family could not afford private tuition, so she relied on self-study and free resources. She hopes to pursue science and join the merchant navy.In Uttarakhand, girls have outperformed boys, with pass rates improving and some students from modest backgrounds achieving top results through discipline and determination.
