An 18-year-old teenager was extradited to the UK from Dubai and charged with the murder of 27-year-old Kamonnan Thiamphanit, also known as Angela, in a case that shocked Westminster in 2024.Enzo Bertamio was brought back on Friday and formally charged upon arrival, police said. He will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court.
The victim was found with multiple stab wounds
On April 8, 2024, Tian Panit was found dead after police forced entry into his home in Stanhope Square, near Hyde Park. She suffered multiple stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Metropolitan Police.Bertamio was extradited from the United Arab Emirates following a coordinated effort by investigators and prosecutors, the BBC reported.Police confirmed the victim’s family have been notified and continue to receive support from specialist officers.The Metropolitan Police had previously made a report to the Independent Office for Police Conduct after friends of Dean Pannett contacted the authorities twice in the day before her body was found.The case was initially treated as a medium-risk missing persons investigation.

Thiampani, who has Hong Kong and Thai nationalities, has lived in the UK for nearly nine years after moving to the UK to attend university. She worked in property management and was described by police as having a wide circle of friends.Detective Chief Inspector Alison Foxwell, who is leading the case, acknowledged the family’s patience, describing the time since the incident as “extremely difficult and distressing”. Authorities said the investigation is ongoing as the case moves through the courts.
