New Delhi: IIT Madras-led digital learning platform SWAYAM Plus has launched three new Artificial Intelligence (AI) courses for beginners as part of its ‘AI for All’ campaign, expanding access to basic AI skills as the platform completes two years of operations. The courses – Artificial Intelligence for Aspiring Engineers, Artificial Intelligence for Administrators and Just-in-Time Engineering – have been developed in collaboration with IITM Pravartak. They are designed for learners with no coding or artificial intelligence background and focus on practical applications across domains.Launched by IIT-M Director V Kamakoti on Friday, the courses mark the second anniversary of the platform, which brings together representatives from government, industry, academia and the learner community and recognizes key partners and top-performing learners.Registration for all three courses is currently open on the SWAYAM Plus portal, with the last date set for May 10, 2026.Among them, Artificial Intelligence for Aspiring Engineers is designed to provide students transitioning from school to engineering with the basics of Python, artificial intelligence, and machine learning using engineering datasets. The course is priced at Rs 500 (inclusive of GST).Artificial Intelligence for Administrators is aimed at management professionals and focuses on decision-making using artificial intelligence, machine learning, and generative artificial intelligence tools. Price is Rs 100 plus GST.The Prompt Engineering course, which introduces learners to how to effectively interact with AI systems to generate accurate outputs, is also priced at Rs 100 plus GST.Highlighting the growth of the platform, R Sarathi, Coordinator of SWAYAM Plus and Dean (Planning), IIT-M, said that the program has rapidly expanded since its launch with the support of the Education Ministry.“SWAYAM Plus… has successfully completed two years. Since its inception, the platform has grown significantly and currently hosts over 500 online courses in over 15 areas… with over 550,000 learners registered to date,” he said. The “AI for All” campaign launched in May 2025 has already received widespread attention. The first batch of five introductory AI courses attracted more than 42,000 registrants, while the second batch included a course for educators, which attracted more than 50,000 learners. The platform continues to focus on career-oriented digital learning aligned with national frameworks, with select courses offering credit recognition and academic verification from IIT Madras.
