Julia Varvaro says she did nothing wrong when it comes to sugar daddy controversy.

Julia Varvaro, the 29-year-old deputy assistant secretary for counterterrorism at the Department of Homeland Security, has broken her silence on the viral “sugar daddy” scandal that centers on her. Robert B, who is decades older than Vavaro, complained that he spent $40,000 on her to maintain her high-class lifestyle. The complaint was filed directly with the Department of Homeland Security, with Robert B writing that he did not want to become a sugar daddy. According to the Daily Mail, Varvaro had been looking for older men on dating apps to fund her lavish lifestyle. She had a profile on Seeking.com called Alessia, where she described herself as someone who worked for a government agency and offered “seductive sophistication,” the report said.Robert B said Varvaro ended the relationship when Robert refused to spend more money on her. Robert said their first date was at the Minetta Tavern outpost in Washington, D.C., where he spent $1,400 and got a kiss in return. They spent the Martin Luther King weekend in Aruba together; in February, the couple splurged on a trip to Italy and Switzerland. After returning, Varvaro pressured him to send $2,000 to pay half of her rent because DHS was closed.“She also told me outright that the $40,000 worth of jewelry on her wrists and ears were trophies from her sugar daddy,” he continued to complain. “I believe she was under financial pressure and her actions posed a safety risk.”Varvaro reacted to the scandal and said she did nothing wrong. “We are together in an exclusive relationship. We go on vacation. I don’t know what’s wrong with that,” Varvaro told the Daily Mail. “I didn’t do anything wrong. This was just a crazy ex-boyfriend talking nonsense. It’s really weird.”“If we wrote a story about every failed short-lived relationship in Washington, this town would collapse. I thought it was a great relationship until we stopped working and that was it,” Varvaro said.
