Despite those explanations, House Oversight Committee Chairman James Cuomo is pushing for an investigation, citing concerns that the initial inflated valuation of her husband’s business could have been used to attract unknown investors.
Revised financial documents detailing the Minnesota Democrat’s finances show income in 2024 between $102,503 and $1,005,200. Those numbers are balanced by massive debt, including student loans and credit card balances, up to $50,000 each. Earlier filings valued her husband’s venture capital firm and winery at millions of dollars. But the updated version lists those interests as having no net value after accounting for liabilities. Omar dismissed the Republican attack as a politically motivated “stunt” aimed at raising money while insisting he was innocent of any other accusations of fraud.
