Satellite images show impact of Iranian missile and drone attacks on Dubai

Luxurious and ultra-modern Dubai has also come under the spotlight amid widespread unrest in the Arab world, where Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and several other top leaders were killed in a joint US-Israeli attack. A grief-stricken Iran has launched attacks on multiple countries in the Middle East. The killing of Khamenei and the massive U.S. and Israeli military campaign against Iran have sent Tehran into a state of madness. The Islamic Republic, without Khamenei, has launched ferocious retaliatory attacks against U.S. military bases and Israel in the Gulf, and has also targeted the region’s main commercial and tourist hub, the skyscraper city of Dubai, and nearby Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates.Satellite images clearly captured the aftermath of the attack, comparing photos taken by Iran before and after it launched the attack.Images showed thick black smoke rising into the sky and the city’s iconic skyline turning gray after violent blasts and explosions.Over the years, Dubai’s views and skyline have rarely reflected the turmoil common in the Arab world, but instead symbolized the glamor and opulence of modern city life. The ornate, sail-shaped Burj Al Arab sits on Dubai’s Gulf Coast and has long been a symbol of the city’s wealth and ambition. Now, the iconic building has become a symbol of the crisis sweeping the region after Iranian missiles set parts of the building on fire.Residents watched in shock over the weekend as hundreds of drones and missiles targeted the United Arab Emirates and other U.S. Gulf allies that have long been a relatively safe haven from conflicts in the region. As the city of Dubai transformed over several decades from a humble desert outpost into a cosmopolitan hub of towering skyscrapers and global finance, many of its goals have strong symbolic value. In addition to the Burj Al Arab, a beloved landmark since it opened in 1999, there was also an explosion at a five-star hotel on the upscale Palm Jumeirah, a man-made island known as the playground of the world’s elite.Dubai International Airport, the world’s busiest airport for international passengers, and Jebel Ali Port were also affected by the strike. According to official estimates, the two facilities together account for about 60% of Dubai’s revenue.Dalia, a 33-year-old Lebanese expatriate, was at the popular Kite Beach near the Burj Al Arab on Saturday when an interceptor system began destroying incoming missiles and drones from the air.Later, debris from an intercepted drone reportedly started a fire near the base of the hotel’s facade.

'He showed his true potential': Gautam Gambhir praises Sanju Samson after Eden Masterclass

New Delhi: India Head Coach Gautam Gambhir issued an exciting endorsement Sanzhou Samson After the batsman scored an unbeaten 97 to help India reach the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup, he said the knock allowed India to see the “real potential” that the team had always believed in.Push boundaries with our YouTube channel. Subscribe now!Samson’s majestic 97* at the iconic Eden Gardens led India to a five-wicket win over West Indies in a high-pressure Super Eight clash, fulfilling their dream of defending the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup title at home.“Sanju is a world-class player and we all know what a good player he is. It’s all about supporting him. And then when the team needs him the most, obviously today is a day where he can maybe show his true potential and hopefully that’s when he starts playing, maybe two more games,” Gambhir told reporters after the game.

Having come under intense scrutiny following a poor performance against New Zealand in the pre-tournament series and a tough series, Samson responded in the most emphatic way possible. Chasing 196, India faltered early on before the right-hander steadied the innings with calm authority and finished the chase with the bat.Gambhir was particularly impressed with the way he played the game.“Look, I actually don’t think he ever quickened the innings. It was just a very, very normal cricket shot and I never saw anything hitting the ball hard and that’s the talent he has. He bats the ball really well in the nets when you know you’re controlling the game and you know you’re feeling good, it’s about getting into the middle and showing the skills you have,” he said.Gambhir highlighted Samson’s composure with a good batting surface and a quick fielder, reaffirming his long-held belief. “I’ve always said he’s a world-class player, he’s a great talent, and hopefully he can start playing now and hopefully we’ll see more games like this at Sand State.”He also dismissed criticism of past results. “People will always look at his scores and stuff, but then to come back into the team and then play an innings like this… it must have given him a lot of confidence. Because obviously, the guy struggled in the series against New Zealand. But we always knew what kind of potential he had.”

Who is Callahan Walsh? Brother of slain child Adam Walsh weighs in on Nancy Guthrie inquest, ‘Things have gone from hot to cold…’

during the investigation Nancy Guthrie “America’s Most Wanted” co-host Callahan Walsh told Fox News Digital that “there’s a lot to note” about the disappearance. Walsh, who closely follows various missing persons cases, noted that the fact that Nancy has not yet been found makes it “very unique.”

Walsh also said not many seniors are missing, adding that they often get lost or get into their cars and have no way to navigate their way home.

“The ups and downs of this investigation, from hot to cold to hot again [and] It’s cold again,” said Walsh. “We’re hoping Nancy will be found alive [and] She was taken home and reunited with her family. “

Who is Callahan Walsh?

Walsh is the brother of Adam Walsh, who was kidnapped and brutally murdered in 1981 at the age of six. He now co-hostsAmerica’s Most Wanted” and his father, John Walsh.

Walsh serves as executive director of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).

He revealed that his parents found “not knowing to be the hardest part” after Adam’s disappearance.

“My parents couldn’t sleep the two weeks we were searching for Adam. They would do anything to get Adam back and we knew what the Guthrie family was going through,” said Walsh.

Walsh also commented on the $1 million reward offered by Nancy’s family for her recovery. He explained that this may have been a “motivating factor” for people to come forward with credible information about Nancy.

“This money can be life-changing. It really makes people second guess why they were not truthful about what they knew and may be the reason why they end up providing information that the family desperately needs and law enforcement desperately needs,” said Walsh. “This information will absolutely not only help Nancy recover but lead to the arrest of a suspect.”

Despite days of searching, authorities have not released the names of any suspects.

“We know her family will never give up hope,” Walsh said. “We will never give up hope, and neither will law enforcement.”

Walsh said of his work with NCMEC that while screening tips can be a challenge, they often tip the balance in cases.

“They’ve helped us capture nearly 1,200 of the most serious fugitives … and that’s because of the public tips we gave them,” said Walsh. “I always say it’s like looking for a needle in a pile of needles.”

He also points out that more tips are always better than no tips at all.

“Even though you might think it’s small, it could be just a small piece of the puzzle that law enforcement has been looking for,” said Walsh.

Authorities believe Nancy was abducted from her home in Tucson. Pima County Sheriff Chris NanosBefore said the Guthrie family “has shown nothing but cooperation and kindness and that they are the victims in this case,” adding, “To suggest otherwise is not only wrong, it is cruel. The Guthrie family are victims, plain and simple.”

Israel-Iran war: Air India, IndiGo, global airlines suspend flights amid West Asia airspace closure

Stuck in Dubai or Abu Dhabi? Full cost support available in UAE

Amid widespread flight disruptions amid an escalating war between Iran, the United States and Israel, the United Arab Emirates has taken the extraordinary step of launching an emergency aviation support program that will cover all accommodation, meals and rebooking costs for passengers stranded by rescheduled or canceled flights at the country’s airports. The decision was announced by the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) to support travelers facing uncertainty as airspace closures and safety precautions continue to disrupt travel.

United Arab Emirates Bearing the costs of thousands of stranded passengers in the war between Iran, the United States and Israel

With flights rescheduled or delayed at major hubs such as Dubai International Airport (DXB), Abu Dhabi Zayed International Airport (AUH) and Sharjah International Airport, the UAE government has stepped in to ensure passengers do not bear the brunt of sudden disruptions. According to the plan:

  • The UAE government will bear all reception and accommodation costs for affected and stranded travelers.
  • Temporary accommodation hotel, meal Refreshments were also arranged for passengers who were unable to leave the country.
  • National airlines and airport authorities are streamlining rebooking procedures and handling regulatory formalities by coordinating logistics at airport terminals.
  • Transit passengers will also be accommodated and transported to ensure their safety and well-being.

Israel-Iran war: Air India, IndiGo, global airlines suspend flights amid West Asia airspace closure

The GCAA estimates that around 20,200 passengers have been affected by flight rescheduling so far, underscoring the scale of disruption and the breadth of government support plans.

Reasons for UAE flight disruptions

The disruptions are part of a wider aviation crisis across the Gulf, triggered by rising tensions over joint U.S. and Israeli military operations in Iran and subsequent Iranian retaliation. Some countries, including Gulf states, have temporarily restricted or closed parts of their airspace as a precautionary safety measure, forcing airlines to cancel or postpone flights.Major UAE airlines including Emirates, Etihad Airways, flydubai and Air Arabia have announced temporary or extended flight suspensions, while international airlines including Lufthansa have avoided UAE airspace entirely for several days. The closure or restriction of airspace has had a global impact, with airports around the world reporting thousands of flight cancellations and transit passengers stranded amid uncertainty.

The authorities are arranging support at the airport terminal and partner hotels to ensure that passengers affected by cancellations or delays are taken care of and discomfort is minimized:

  • We have arranged temporary accommodation near the airport hub for those unable to leave due to flight cancellations.
  • Passengers can enjoy meals, drinks and refreshments while they wait for their rebooked flight or further updates.
  • Active coordination remains between the airport and national airlines to monitor the situation and resume normal operations as soon as conditions permit.

In Abu Dhabi, tourism authorities also called on hotels to extend their stays for guests unable to travel due to the crisis, confirming that these extended stays would be borne by the state to ease the financial pressure on stranded tourists.

Practical tips for passengers affected by Iran, US, Israel wars

If you’re currently stranded in the UAE due to flight cancellations, travel experts recommend:

  • Please contact your airline directly for the latest status of rebooking or refund options, as most airlines have introduced flexible rescheduling policies.
  • Stay updated via the official airport or airline app/website as schedules can change quickly as the situation changes.
  • If you paid out of pocket, keep receipts for meals and accommodations—many policies allow reimbursement under emergency travel plans.

For tourists whose hotel reservations have expired or who are forced to check out due to flight cancellations, Abu Dhabi authorities have also instructed hotels to prioritize and extend the stay of stranded guests to ensure that they do not need to pay additional fees during this period. The UAE’s decision to pay for accommodation and living expenses for affected passengers is a rare large-scale intervention in state support for aviation and reflects the severity of the current crisis.By absorbing these fees, the UAE aims to protect travelers from undue hardship during volatile times, maintain international confidence in its aviation and tourism industries, and ensure the orderly and humane management of travelers while airspace remains restricted. These measures reinforce the UAE’s reputation as a global travel hub that prioritises not only operational safety but also the welfare of its passengers under extraordinary circumstances.

“Obviously, it’s a great feeling. The way we played, it was a do-or-die game, like a quarter-final, and the way the kids showed character, I thought it was a great thing,” Suryakumar said after the game. But it was his heartfelt words to Samson that really caught the attention.“Look, I always say, good things happen to good people who wait and are patient enough. I said the same when I met him just now. But it’s all his hard work, the stuff he’s been doing behind the scenes when he’s not playing, and he’s getting the fruits at the perfect stage. The way he’s batting has given the team a complete win.”West Indies post 195/4 after chasing 196 – powered by fireworks from the evening Jason Holder and Roffman Powell — India lost 41/2 early in the powerplay. But Samson stepped up, combining timing with audacity. Small partnerships, especially a crucial 42 runs (27 off 15) with Tilak Varma, kept the chase alive.Suryakumar revealed the situation in the dressing room. “I felt like everyone bowled to plan. We knew that 200 was always a good score with the dew and the ball going well. The way the batsmen reacted with the lads afterwards was the key.”The captain also addressed the increasing pressure. “Expectations are always there, but you should always know what you have to do on the field. I tell the kids, there will be pressure… but in a game like this, you have to be brave and make positive choices under pressure. No pressure, no fun. “Samson’s 97* is currently India’s second-highest individual score in the T20 World Cup after Suresh Raina101, his first unbeaten run in the T20I chase.“It’s great to be there,” Surya smiled about the semifinals. “Judging from our performance in the first game, we deserve to be in this position.”India will face England in the semi-finals at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday.

Indian Air Force begins procurement of 4-6 long-range business jets for military leadership and ministers

0

New Delhi: The Indian Air Force (IAF) has officially started replacing its old fleet of VIP transport aircraft, issuing a Request for Information (RFI) for the purchase of 4-6 new long-range business jets (LRBJ), which are designed to transport military leaders and government dignitaries safely, quickly and reliably. The RFI is the first phase to identify potential vendors and understand available technologies before formal procurement to modernize the Air Force Headquarters Communications Squadron at Palam, Delhi. The current fleet of four Embraer Legacy 600 jets, which have been in service for more than 20 years, are expected to be replaced in phases.“IAF plans to procure approximately four/six long-range business jets. In order to identify possible vendors who can undertake the project, OEMs/authorized vendors are required to forward information regarding the products they can offer,” said the RFI posted on the IAF website. “LRBJ will be used in a VIP role with a passenger capacity of at least 19 passengers,” the company said. The current fleet entered service on September 21, 2005 and consists of four Embraer Legacy 600 aircraft, designated Meghdoot, Vayudoot, Nabhdoot and Gagandoot. However, the LRBJ is different from the aircraft reserved for the three most important figures in India: the President, Vice President and Prime Minister. The Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, with the call sign “Air India One”, is a safe and exclusive jet aircraft specially modified for the three major VVIPs.LRBJ aircraft, on the other hand, are suitable for the travel of senior government officials including the Ministers of Defense, Finance, Home and External Affairs, as well as heads of the Indian Army, Navy and the Indian Air Force.
