Will Richman, 22 months, and Wesley Richman, 10 months, were found safe in San Felipe on the evening of May 26, 2026, according to a news release from the Saratoga Springs Police Department. Mexico. ABC4 Utah also reported that the children were found and deemed safe following an Amber Alert.

The alert has now been cancelled.

Multi-agency operation supported by FBI

The Saratoga Springs Police Department acknowledged federal involvement and said, “Special thanks go to the FBI for their efforts and support.”

Officials confirmed that while the Amber Alert has been lifted after the child’s safe recovery, the investigation is ongoing and no further details have been released at this time.

Search launched after days of disappearance

Authorities issued an Amber Alert out of concern for the children’s safety and began a multi-day emergency search and rescue operation. All have since recovered. Earlier reports stated that police also released new photos of the two children as investigators worked to gather clues and find the pair’s whereabouts.

Authorities said the children disappeared following a custody-related incident involving their father, Dane Stephen Richman, who failed to return them during a scheduled custody exchange in Utah.

The case escalated into an interstate and international search, and law enforcement agencies warned the situation could involve travel outside the United States.

Father detained after recovery

Authorities confirmed the children’s father, 46-year-old Dane Stephen Richman, is in custody. He has been charged in Fourth District Court with two counts of custodial interference, according to the Saratoga Springs Police Department.

Officials stressed that these are charges at this stage and noted that anyone arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

Earlier reports suggested there were concerns Richman may have crossed state lines before entering Mexico.
